Maquia When The Promised Flower Blooms Limited Edition BLURAY Blu-ray – Blu-ray

This is one of those movies that'll break serial killers. The saying "Clannad Changed my Life" applys with Maquia. A beautiful movie about a mothers love, life, and letting go. 100% recommend watching with friends who dont know it so they can cry like newborns. Absolutley beautiful

It's what I ordered and one of my daughter's favorite movies.

This is a marvelous movie, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy, Studio Gibli films, and wonderful stories.The story follows Maquia, a young girl who will never get old, and the baby boy that she takes in as her own. It has themes of loss and love, and a beautiful portrayal of the struggle that it is to be a mother.The flow of the movie is clear, and the little details that show the different characters aging is done in a way that is easily picked up on, and then swept away as the years continue to pass.The vibe (emotional tone) is similar to that of "Castle in the Sky" and "Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind":Sad, thoughtful, and happy.The music is sweet and lovely, melding into the background but present enough to help the emotions in the scenes.I have never really wondered what it would be like to be an ageless being, as I am human, like you, but this movie did a wonderful job of bringing that to the screen.It is a beautiful film.Note to parents (spoilers):There is no swearing that I caught, or sex or sensual garbage in this film. There is a little bit of violence, and a bit of blood, but it is not drawn out. I think children of 9 or so would not find it unbearable. There are some heavier themes, such as the love a mother can have for a child that is not her own, the struggle of being a mother, and the hard situation of someone having a child that was put into her against her will, but the latter is presented in a way that while it will be easily understood by an adult, a young child probably wouldn't catch the depth of the situation.

It is a good show and a heartfelt story. It also has a meaningful ending and will leave your mind and heart satisfied. Such a rare breed.The main idea goes like this: what if an immortal teenager (because... anime 🤷‍♂️) were to play surrogate mom for a mortal? That's all I can spoil. Not a new idea either.Now, this team delivered a wonderful story. There were a few flaws, but they were bearable. Music was good and didn't overpower the show. Other people already mentioned the lovely 3D graphics. Also a lot of too much crying (because... anime 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️)Okay go watch it. Below this line I talk about the bad reviews.----One reviewer gave this show one star. What an utter shame and great disservice to themselves and to humanity!They liked the show but felt that story needed more development. They felt deceived by the other reviews. So they proceeded to give their own one-star review?!Another review gave this show (which, it seems, they didn't watch) two stars. They felt that it needed the original Japanese audio.Perhaps people don't understand what a review system is? Or maybe the user interface doesn't make it clear enough? What is going on?! 🤷‍♂️ 🤔

I had never seen this movie prior to purchasing it, but what attracted me were the visuals/bright colors and details in the artwork, as well as what I expected to be sort of a action/drama animated movie. (FYI, this is not so much an action movie).Without spoilers, this is essentially a movie that approaches the concept of the cycle of life, over the course of roughly a little longer than a human's average lifespan (lets say maybe 80ish or more years). The main characters grow emotionally and psychologically over the course of time, and very realistic responses to the given circumstances are made (purposefully vague :) ). The ending, for me, was a real tear-jerker. Sad yet sweet, and very beautiful in the artwork.A couple pros for me: Not just the main characters, but ALL characters in the movie actually develop/change over time. Some become jaded, some become more level-headed than they used to be. For a movie, they packed in quite a bit more than you'd expect.Also, the visuals, of course, were pretty great. Music was appropriate, and the details of the quilts were very nice.The view on life from the film was less about "right and wrong", and more about personal beliefs, and the ability to potentially change, as well as the significance of relationships.My only con would be: I expected it to be a little more "actiony". Overall that's not a problem, but as I said, I sort of expected it to be initially, based on what I saw from trailers, etc. Outside of that expectation, as a film about life, it's very good.I would highly recommend it as a "thinking" movie, with some good takeaways.

This is the story of two cultures in a fantasy world which are at war. In the midst of the war, the most important thing is the children. The children are the theme throughout the story. I liked the characters and the story. I felt that the way the artists changed the color of the character's hair for part of the story was not necessary. I know they were trying to have an art style which showed her in a different life. However, it was not an aspect I liked. I found it distracting.I liked the theme of life and changes. Love, children and family values. How in the midst of war, there are always children affected. Makes me wonder even more why there are wars.

La película llegó a tiempo y en buen estado. Está película tiene una muy buena animación, su historia es bella, abarca un gran periodo de tiempo, es lo único que creo le falla, ya que es mucho tiempo en la historia que se resumen en una película, ya que se sienten los cambios de tiempo algo abruptos, pero en general muy buena película.

I took a chance with this movie and no regret! It's a wonderful story, beautiful animation and a must watch and own in your collection ^-^.

Parto con il dire che la spedizione è stata perfetta, nessun problema ed è arrivato il giorno dopo l'ordinazione.Bellissima l'edizione ultralimited, costa un po', ma sinceramente per quello che si riceve (graditissimo il libretto incluso da 80 pagine con artwork e intervista al cast) e soprattutto per il valore dell'opera mi sono sentito in dovere di supportare il progetto dopo aver recuperato il film su Prime Video.Passando alla pellicola in sè, c'è veramente poco da dire: mai un film mi aveva emozionato fino al punto da farmi singhiozzare alla fine, tutti i punti convergono in un finale talmente crudo ma delicato che è stato impossibile trattenersi dalle lacrime, è un anime che è riuscito a toccare corde dell'animo che mai avevo sperimentato in passato.L'argomento affrontato è l'amore materno incondizionato e viene descritto in un modo che solo tramite il genere fantasy poteva essere veicolato in una maniera così efficace e potente, e mi fermo qua.Guardatelo e, se avete modo, compratelo! Se si devono spendere soldi su film e serie tv, spendeteli su un prodotto che si merita tutta l'attenzione del mondo come questo.

Didnt work thought i could use it in my region free bluray player bit didnt work. And when making my purchase asked for uk and this popped you so i automatically thought it was oki then i thought nevermind its region free but wouldnt play on my bluray player. Also the quality wasnt very good looked almost printed from a pc and the case is very fragile
