Lightweight plastic cage that is comfortable for prolonged wear. So light that it’s easy to forget it’s there. Overall, a great cage but I’ll end up ordering the smaller version as the head on this cage is bigger than I thought it would be.Pros: Ventilation is a lot better than other plastic cages. Good for airflow and hygiene. Look and overall comfort is great. Has a cam lock so there’s no noisy, clanging padlock. Effective at keeping everything locked up. Comes with several different sized rings for a custom fit. The hinged rings come with a silicone sleeve to protect from pinching.Cons: the material is a very lightweight plastic reminiscent of shower curtain rings. Seems cheap and gives a feeling that it’s not very durable. No issues so far though. Honestly it’s a bit too light for my liking as I enjoy the heft of other rings/cages that remind you they are there throughout the day, but if you prefer to “set it and forget it,” this will do the job. The cam lock is exposed on the top which seems like water damage might occur after repeated showers even though it’s supposedly brass. The same kind of brass cam lock that came on another cage that was enclosed is showing signs of water damage which is why it concerns me that this one is exposed. The cam lock is also a bit loose in the socket and can rattle while walking, although it’s only been noticeable when not wearing clothing. The space between the ring and the shaft cylinder can be tight depending on the ring selected. It decreases with the smaller sizes. I use the 50mm ring and the spacing is just a little tight, whereas the next smaller size reduces that spacing dramatically causing pinching issues. This is my first cage or ring with a hinged bottom and there was certainly a learning curve in figuring out how to put it on. I was challenged holding it all together to line up the posts into the ring while keeping the ring closed and not pinching myself in the process. Found it’s a bit easier to put the cage on first and then put the ring on, which I can only assume is why it’s hinged in the first place. It would be helpful if the ring had a way to gently snap together and hold itself closed while aligning the cage posts to the ring. The included silicone sleeve over the hinge is certainly necessary, but tends to be a friction point on the undercarriage; lube/lotion helps, but it seems multiple applications during the day may be necessary.
