⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️GAME CHANGER for anyone caring for someone with dysphagia or swallowing impairment. My mother has advanced Dementia/Alzheimer’s and has struggled with swallowing for the past 2-3 years. I have searched everywhere for a thickener alternative and I have tried EVERY powder and gel on the market. This one is by far the best. We started with Thick-It, in the early stages of her dysphagia, but I was never a fan. No matter how much I stirred or blended it, cold liquids always had a chalky texture, and the powder would clump together. my mother really disliked the aftertaste of Thick-it. Preparation felt like a hassle and the results weren’t consistent. Then I tried DysphagiaAide, and it has been a total game changer since. My mom requires honey-thick liquids, and I’ve found that 2–3 scoops per cup of juice or water gives the perfect consistency that she tolerates well. The mixing chart on the back is pretty accurate, and makes it easy to adjust based on the level of thickness you need. Here are the steps that work best for me: 1. Start with an empty cup that is completely dry—no moisture at all, not even a drop 2. Add the scoops of powder to the dry cup (according to the mixing chart). 3. Pour your water or juice directly over the powder. 4. Immediately after pouring, stir the liquid and thickener well for one full minute. 5. Let it sit for 10–20 minutes so the thickener can fully activate. (You can keep in fridge for those 10 mins if you like it cold) • This step is crucial for getting the correct consistency as the thickener continues to activate after stirring. I usually try to prepare my mom’s thickened juice the night before and keep it in the fridge as I like to have liquids ready and prepared ahead for when she needs it. but I’ve found that the product is fully activated and ready within 10–20 minutes if you’re making it fresh. Honestly, This has been a household essential in our home for 2 years and has been an absolute lifesaver. Highly recommend!!!!

I use this to thicken liquids To thicken 1 cup of water to honey thick takes 4 of the small scoops. This means I will get about 100 cups liquid treated. It does not change the flavor of the liquid. I only mix up what I need for the day. After about two days it starts to get cloudy in water.

Only thickner product to use. Starch thickening agents result in an unpalatable drink. Liquid thickening agents are expensive.

I have tried a few thickeners and this one wins hands down for me. I don't mix it exactly as the directions say. I do use the amounts recommended, but I put all the powder I need for the task into a small bowl and pour my liquid into a mason jar style glass with lid. With the bowl in one hand and the lid in the other, I add the powder, secure the lid and shake it like crazy! I shake for 30 to 40 seconds. I don't have to wait for it to set this way. It is ready for a straw. If I'm delayed in mixing even for a few seconds though, it clumps and is hard to remedy. That's why the two handed quick trick. The best feature of this powder over the others is that it doesn't continue to thicken after it is thoroughly mixed. I can mix it, let my husband drink what he wants, then store the rest back in the fridge without it turning too thick to use. It stays at the same consistency once it has achieved its distribution into the liquid. There is NO taste to this thickener and it doesn't change the color of the beverage. Other thickeners leave water cloudy. This one has bubbles after I shake the snot out of it, but it is still clear. Same with tea. I have used it for a carbonated beverage a few times. If it has any carbonation in it at all, it foams up immediately. Fortunately for me, my husband is fine with 'flat' sodas so I work diligently to get the carbonation out of the soda before thickening it. This is my go to thickener forever more. And their customer service is exceptional!

Great for thickening puréed foods for those with difficulty swallowing. Only drawback for me is that it seems to take a lot to reach consistency.

I'm a 48 year old man who has had a very low level of dysphagia for years, but it got worse recently, and I was really having trouble drinking liquids. I did some research on a few products, but this one seemed to fit the bill as far as ingredients, price, etc. so I gave it a shot. * Mixes quite well, but if you don't use a really dry glass, it will clump up a little bit when you poor the water, etc. in and stir it. The consistency is usually quite even, although you will occasionally get a small clump, which is no big deal. * Took a while drinking water like this, because as you can imagine, thick water isn't very appetizing haha. But I did get used to it, and sometimes I put a little juice or sparkling water in with it, for flavor. * I only use the nectar like consistency and that's just fine for me, so I haven't had to use the thicker consistencies that people with a history of stroke, neurologic disease etc. may have to. * I've had no issues with this product, and I drink 5 or 6 glasses of water a day, usually about 10 ounces. No gas, bloating, loose bowels, etc. Lastly, I want to mention the customer service. I called them to ask if there was a safe upper limit you should adhere to when using the product, even though I was familiar with all the ingredients and was pretty sure there would be no issue. The gentleman I talked to was extremely nice, and not only answered my questions, but actually asked ME questions about my dysphagia, how or if the product was helping, etc. so he seemed very concerned with the quality of the product and my whether or not in was helping me. So, very cool. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone with dysphagia.

Edit: This is more a seller issue than a product one, but the price of this product has almost tripled since I last ordered them on January 15th. At that time it was $49.85 for the 400g container. I looked at it today and it's $133.65! And the US tariffs haven't even started yet?? Most people who have dysphagia are elderly, and are on fixed incomes, as my mom is. How are they supposed to afford this now?? I'm so disgusted. I've been taking care of my mom who has dysphasia for almost 5 years now. I had been using the more well-known brand until this year. It's very expensive to buy here in Canada. I thought I'd try this brand, just to see if it was as good. It turns out, it's even better! I make 7 or 8 glasses up at a time. I put the thickener in each glass and with the other brand, I was unable to add the juice to all of them at once or the thickener would clump up - a pain in the butt. With this brand, it dissolves more quickly, so I can pour them all at once. The only other step is making sure you stir it for around 30 seconds. I bought some silicone covers for all of the glasses, so when I put them in the fridge, they are still perfect two days later. I definitely recommend this product. It's literally a life saver!

Great product and the price is amazing compared to Nestle and giving the same outcome. It quickly thickens the fluids and doesn’t affect the taste or colour.
