Affordable option to keep your acoustic in good health!
I love being able to find multiple items I need in one package. Lazy or efficient, whatever you want to call it! I have had good success with Music Nomad accessories in the past. Not the top of the line, but effective and reliable for a decent price. The items are plastic, but seem durable and have shown no abnormal signs of wear and tear over 4-5 months of continuous use.As far as each particular item:The sponge and "holder" provided to supply humidity are of good quality. The sponge itself was definitely better than some of the other comparable brands supply, and when using distilled water as suggested, I've had no issues thus far!The hygrometer seems to be decent, but full disclosure, I don't have a known accurate hygrometer with which to compare it. The best proof I have is in my guitar itself!I purchased a used 2014 Taylor 310ce in January 2019. It arrived looking beautifully, but the strings had a bit of buzz. I almost put it in the shop for a new saddle to raise the action, but I really liked the string height, and upon further inspection, I realized the neck was a bit bowed! I researched this and found an awesome care guide on Taylor's website that lead me to believe my guitar was dehydrated!Being the researcher I obviously tend to be, I looked into reasonable options to try to rectify my issue, and decided to try out this system. The hygrometer said my guitar was around 30% humidity (ideal range 45-55%), and after 3 weeks of using the sponge, it was in the 40% range, and getting less buzz! Now I consistently keep it in the 48-53% range (again, according to this hygrometer, and cannot verify it's true accuracy), and have no longer had any buzz issues!A little advice for application:1. When soaking the sponge, place it in a bowl and don't rush the process, allow it to slowly soak the water in at its own pace. I just believe this will prolong the life, less wear and tear.2. Once done soaking, lightly press on the sponge to get MOST of the water out. After getting the feel for it, I usually leave just enough in where I think one more squeeze would be the last to actually yield much water. The holder (or whatever it's called) does a decent job of keeping water from dripping into your guitar, but just be careful not to leave enough water in the sponge that it would drop a bunch through the case. Your guitar is going to be on its side at times in the case, and too much water would lead to it leaking out of the slits on the side of the holder.3. Once ideal humidity range is achieved, don't be afraid to let the sponge stay dry at times, especially if your location has periods of higher temps and, most importantly, higher humidity.4. The sponge may start to get discolored where the air slots are located on the holder. Nothing you can do, this is likely just dust, etc that makes its way through those slots when it's in the guitar.Hope this is helpful, but sometimes I feel reviews are vague, don't help much with implementation of the product, or are just frustrated and impatient people throwing a temper tantrum (though we know there's always some faulty DOA products even from the best).Enjoy and rock on (or jam out, get funky, whatever applies)!!!

Simple and works extremely well.
Easy to use. Doesn't drip. My favorite humidifier so far.The humidistat works great too. I have two. T hey both agree on readings and also agree with another brand humidistat I have. (All typically within 2%)Only issues is that it can't really be used in the sound hole in my Martin guitar and case. The problem isn't really in the unit, it is in the case humidifier/humidistat combo. The Martin case is a *very* snug fit with the guitar; it actually touches the strings all the way down to almost the bridge. while the humidifier and humidistat stick up above the strings just a bit. Enough that putting this humidifier between the strings results in the strings getting pressed into the guitar too much when I close the lid. I put the humidistat in the space where the cutout is (inside a small sock to avoid scratches) and the humidifier by the headstock. It works well enoughFor my other guitars in bags, this unit works great.I won't ding this design any stars for Martins case design though.I would definitely buy them again.

Works As Advertised
Bought this product on recommendation of my Luthier for my Martin guitar. It works as advertised, and keeps my guitar properly humidified! I highly recommend this product.

Awesome humidifier, not just for the money, just awesome period.
This thing has one of the best sponges I've seen. It holds a ton of water but does not drip or release it fast enough to condensate. Slips right between the strings of your acoustic, then mount the humidity and temp monitor in the holster and velcro it to your case where you please. In the case of my electric I do the opposite, put my humidifier in the holster and velcro it to the case, then I just rest the monitor elsewhere. Versatile, easy to use, great sponge. If it was slightly more compact it'd be 5 stars.

Definitely what I needed
I have one of these sets for each of my guitar cases. I feel much better about the humidity maintenance of my instruments since buying them. The sponges release moisture slowly and stay damp for a long time--at least in my cases they do. The nice thing is you can squeeze a little water out of the sponge if you only need a small amount of humidity or set it in the holder fully soaked if you need more. They don't appear to drip. A good investment for the preservation of your valued instruments!

Over Humidifies my Guitar
So far this this package will reliably over-humidify my guitar up to around 65%.I live in the not especially humid mid-east and almost always have the AC/heat on in my home (both of which dehumidify the house). It should come with multiple sponges that release water into the air at different rates.I ordered the D-Addaro package that’s supposed to go for a more constant 45%-55% humidity. The humidity monitor is great. It’s why I know the other part of this package doesn’t do what I bought it to do.

Well worth the $40.00 to protect your solid wood guitar.
First of all, you can forget the distilled water issue. It's meaningless. I use tap water in these (and two previous versions without the reader) and have had zero trouble with the sponges. None. These work very well, and I've checked humidity reading with a clean room at my workplace, and they are both accurate with 2-3% in either direction. The only advice I'd give is to not slide them in so far that the lips hook your strings. Just makes them easier to remove.
