Notebook Black, A5 Journal, Large Hardback, 296pp | 80gsm | Black 8.4 x 5.7 inches

This is a nice sturdy journal, I paid £5.99 which I believe is great value. I like the smart black cover and the minimalistic design. There are a lot of pages to play with, more than you get in a standard notebook. I am able to use fountain pens in it with no bleeding or feathering. Ghosting is only minor and I'm happily writing on both sides. The rules don't come all the way to the edges - nice touch - and there's a space at the top to write the date and page number if you wish. I'm using it to log my work hours. The pages are quite yellowish so if you want bright white paper this isn't the book for you. There's a simple white textured ribbon bookmark, plain white endpapers and no pocket at the back or elastic closure. It comes in a brown cardboard gift box with a heart cut out - that went in my recycling bin as I just needed the book. I'm hoping the binding will hold up, it seems okay at the moment.

I use my notebook for work, so it needs to be hard wearing and it doesn't have to look particularly "nice". In that trespect this notebook is perfect for me. The cover has ta dense canvas feel and mine (which is black) has a tendency to pick up anything that's on the table.These points don't bother me as it's a functional book for me and it takes a bashing anyway. Of more concern was that it was hard to get the book flat at first as the spine angles outwards, meaning that when flat on a desk the spine makes the book rock slightly. Over a few weeks this has flattened out, but at first it was slightly difficult to use the book next to my laptop.Overall, it's a nice notebook, and the paper is a nice thick off-white, which takes my gel ink nicely with no bleed-through. For my purposes, it works well. I knocked off one star for the rocking action, which wore off, but some people would throw thebook away ratherthan persevere.

I would highly recommend getting this notebook. It exactly says on the tin, great amount of pages, each page is thicker than your usual notebook which makes writing feel smooth and easy for both pen AND pencil.The book itself has a place to jot down date and page numbers but nothing else and they aren't too in your face. And being A5 it's nice to carry, doesn't take up much space and there's no added weight.On a side note I wouldn't recommend this for people who like to rip out pages, the book has been nicely sown however ripping out pages does cause the opposite page that was attached to fall out.I'm definately buying this again once my I fill out my book!Update 24/9/21: Made my second purchase and I'm still happily pleased with it!!

I use this for journalling, but didn’t realise that there was no elastic to keep the book closed. Apart from that, it’s very impressive. Much thicker and sturdier than I expected.

I write a diary daily and go through a lot of A5 notebooks. This is one of the best I have ever ordered. It is very well packaged in its own cardboard cover that is inside the outer packaging. It is then sealed in cellophane. The outside of the book is very sturdy and there are a lot of pages of excellent quality paper. On each page there is a space at the top for the date and page number. It is very good value for money. I am very impressed and will definitely be ordering again.

This is a superb notebook. It is very securely backed, with extremely strong facings. The quality of the paper is excellent, no ink bleed through issues, and the cream lined paper is very comfortable on the eye. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this item, or buy again for myself or as a gift. Excellent quality!
