EnGive 2014 New Quicksand Hard Matte Skin Case for Verzion Nokia Lumia 929 Icon (Black)

I bought this after dropping my Lumia 929 and scuffing the exterior. I never really like to put cases on my phone because I find that it makes them bulky, and then they don't fit well in my pocket. I have found that this case is perfect. It is very thin, and I often forget that I even have a case on my phone. I don't think it would offer that much protection against a major impact, but for everyday thinks like dropping it from shoulder level onto concrete it successfully protects the phone against cosmetic damage. Other things that are great about this case. It fits perfectly, and in no way inhibits the camera or the multiple microphones which make this phone special. I have recorded numerous live music performances with this case on, and the sound quality of the video has been beautiful. When all of this is combined with the price, I would say this case is tough to beat. The texture is a little odd at first but with continuous use, I have found that it softens up a bit white still providing a good grip.

If you're looking for a cheap case that offers some protection but won't add a lot of bulk to your phone, I think this one is a great option. It seems pretty sturdy, but obviously it's not going to provide the same protection as a bulkier case would. However, I like that it's thin and light enough that it doesn't really add much to the size of the phone, which is already fairly large.The front edges of the case extend just slightly past the screen - not enough to be annoying, but enough to keep the screen from directly contacting the surface underneath it when it's lying face down. That's a nice touch. There are holes for all of the device's microphones and buttons, in addition to a hole for the speaker. And best of all, I can still charge my phone wirelessly using the DT-900 wireless charging plate, without removing the case.Finally, I quite like the texture of this case. It's unlike most cases I've used previously; it has a semi-rough finish, almost like a very fine grit of sandpaper. (Hence the name "Quicksand," I guess?) But don't misunderstand - it's not at all unpleasant to the touch. In fact, it actually feels pretty nice. It's not as grippy as a rubber case would be, but I think it's better than most of the glossy plastic cases I've used. At any rate, I don't feel like the phone is going to fly out of my hand with this case on it.Really, for the price, I think you can't go wrong here.Update: after a couple months of use I pulled this case from my pocket and found that one corner had cracked and fallen off. I haven't done anything to the case that should have caused this, so I'm a bit disappointed that it seems to be wearing already. Still, for the price I paid, I can't really complain.

I liked the case and even bought it twice. The problem is that once it takes any kind of abuse and cracks, it's not flush with the edge of a phone any longer and then there is little protection. From them on screen protection was meager at best. when my phone slid down the driveway (argghhh) the glass was a mess, not broken but visibly scratched. No I didn't have a screen protector but I do now. Then one morning rushing out the door, my phone fell out of my backpack and poof, the screen was in a zillion pieces. I had to cough up several hundred bucks for another. And for that reason I'm out! Yes I probably should have replaced when cracked, but this was already my second case. So, moving on to softer, silicone stuff, which has so far saved me when dropped on concrete (oops!)

Case is ok for a light weight case. Really not much offered it terms of protection though.

This is a really great case for only paying $7. It doesn't add any weight to your phone and doesn't make your phone clunky. The case gives enough grip that the phone won't fly out of your hand but also won't catch on your pants when you try to slide it into your pocket. No sharp edges, and doesn't hurt your phone if you need to take it off. Dropped my phone a couple times by accident (driveway, tile floor), and it did the job and protected my phone. I dropped it by accident yesterday right on the corner and the case cracked, but my phone survived. I just ordered another case, I would definitely recommend this case.

This case is exactly what I was looking for - basic protection for my phone, without adding a lot of bulk. This case provides no protection. I dropped the phone from a low height (car seat to pavement). The case popped off immediately and provided no protection while my 1 week old phone was damaged / scratched as it slid on the pavement. Do yourself a favor and only get a rubber case that will not pop off from the slightest impact.
