Awesome without the All-Clad price
I discovered Mauviel back when Sur Le Table used to carry their line. While a lot of reviewers and site say that 3 layer (Stainless, Aluminum, Stainless) is all that you need, I find that the extra Aluminum, Stainless layers allow the pans and skillets to heat up and cool down more gradually, reducing the risk of burning if you started cooking at a lower temperature. The extra layers also truly even out the heating of the entire cooking surface; the temperature under the flame is identical to the edge of the pan. Maviel also provides sturdy easy to hold handles that do not allow the pans to rotate on you, as you pour the contents into serving dishes. This is one of my big complaints about some Cuisinart pans which uses a rounded, tube like handle to supposedly keep the handle cooler (doesn't work), when you go to pour the contents out, it is not uncommon while holding it with a dish towel for the entire pot to rotate in your hand and dump the entire contents while you try and avoid being burned by the splatter and such.Mauviel is pricey, but less so than All-Clad for the same or better performance. Either way both a heirlooms that you can pass down to the other cooks in your family, so well worth the price in my opinion.

It's an amazing pan
This is an amazing pan the curve sides are great for sauces, boiling and reheating.Iove how evenly the heat is distributed on low.I differently will be ordering more pans.

Nice pan; shame about the giant sticker that leaves a mark when removed
This is a lovely small saucepan. It is solid, heavy, and spreads heat well.My only complaint is that it comes with a giant advertising sticker on the inside-bottom that is (a) very hard to remove and (b) leaves a big mark where it was -- even through a couple of washings. So someone went out of their way to make this worse! How sad... and insulting.
