Mine works beautifully. It has never collapsed.

It measures from 2 1/2 inches at its narrowest point to 4 1/2 at the widest. So it depends on how small your sleeves are.

Q: Does it have a hook to hang it up when it isn't being used?

Yes, when folded it hangs from the silver bracing hook under the the board. It’s a great way to store it, I also use tin foil to cover just the board part when storing. Keeps the ironing area dust free. Great product.

Q: can this be completely folded?

Hi. It folds down to about 1.5 inches thick. The legs fold up to meet the underside of the ironing board. Just to confirm, this is a sleeveboard: an accessory ironing board for pressing sleeves, shirt collars, and hems. It's just 4.5 inches wide x 20 inches long. That confuses some people (though probably not you!). Hope that helps!
