Almost Lasted 7 days
I've Desperately been trying to find a tough toy for my 17 month golden retriever. Finally purchased because the price seemed ok if it would last us longer than the multiple toys I have to buy to keep her entertained. I bought two of this brand and both lasted 6.5 days . Disappointed but was worth a shot.

One Big Horse! - UPDATED 12/14
We have a few of these types of items from the same company. Our EM loves them all. No, they don't squeak but I don't care. A squeaker gives her focus on where to destroy. This item is as big as the TRex. It is heavy, but you wouldn't know the way she swings it around. There are a few things to note and why I give it 4 stars and not 5:1. The tail. The tail is made of some sort of rope or ribbon. In 10 minutes she had chewed pieces off. We don't buy her rope toys for the same reason-- she chokes on them and vomits everywhere. (yuck) I wound up just cutting it very short and may need to completely cut it off.2. The ears. They are a bit flimsy and one is already decimated. There are not many skinny points on this item compared to the Pteradactyl and TRex so that makes it harder for her to gnaw until destruction on any one point of the toy. The face is the skinniest portion but does not come to a point. If she begins to concentrate on a part of the toy I will take it away for a while. This helps make the toy last much longer.I thank the other reviewer of this item for posting a size comp photo. It really helped in my purchase decision.7/1/13- Howie is still trotting along after I did stuffed animal emergency surgery to close a ripped seam (wonder how that happened??). Separation was seam connecting leg to body.1/3/14- I put the toy away since Mama ripped out the nice seaming I did on the leg. It was in my closet for maybe a month (so late Nov-Dec). I finally got around to re-sewing it during the Christmas break. Within 2 days she had AGAIN pulled out the seaming and taking the guts out of the horse. I give up. I am thinking to just let her take all the stuffing out and have a flat animal. It's hard to pull a needle through the material and I'm getting tired of it! We haven't tossed the horse out just yet.2/3/14- This item had to be tossed in the trash. I just could not keep up with the destruction and she was eating parts of the canvas. I will probably purchase another of these since it was one of her favorite Tuffy's.4/9/14- We purchased a replacement horse. This shape was one of her faves so I couldn't resist.12/1/14 - Threw away decimated horse carcass. Back to purchase a replacement. It's her favorite Tuffy Shape.

Puppy loves this little goat!
Durable, not a stuffed animal, has not been destroyed like most toys. Glad I ordered this.

Can't get enough of these Tuffy products!
Purchased Herman the horse as a replacement for the Tuffy toy, Sherman the sheep. Have only had it for three days, but my fur kids already love it! I can see that the ears and tail on this guy will probably be only a memory by the end of the week, but this is a well constructed toy very similar to the other Tuffy toy that it replaced. The sheep lasted four months before our guys finally chewed a hole in one of the feet and started flinging stuffing all over the house and I expect a similar lifespan from Herman.**Note: Even after the stuffing is removed our guys enjoy dragging the "skin" around and playing tug of war with it, effectively doubling the life of the toy. In my opinion, these products are well worth the money.

tough enough for some fun
our golden retriever eats toys in 15-20 minutes so we stopped buying toys and just gave her boxes to play with and tear up. then we found these "tuff" toys and we are happy- don't be fooled- she still can tear them up (but the first one took about 4 months and even then that was just a start- took several months to finish tearing up!) worth the price b/c at least it lasts awhile and she was challenged- it surprised her that she was challenged and at first that was perplexing for her but then she was into the challenge!

20 pound dog tore it open in minutes!
Let me start by saying that I’m aware this is not a chew toy. That said, a 20 pound dog tore this thing open in minutes. These are not nearly as tough as claimed, especially for being an 8/10 on their little toughness scale.. I can’t recommend this toy due to low durability.

"Horsey" is so tough that my small dog hasn't gotten him open yet.
Horsey is fun to play with and our dogs love him. We also have Rabbit which is also a popular toy

This one was a bit more tuffy compared to the bone and sun, it lasted 3 days before my terrier cross destroyed it! Not very good

Great
Great item as always, this brand never fails to impress and lasts well against the lab. Well worth the money as I only have to buy one every few months. Still here just headless.

Great toy!
We love the brand and tow has survived. Tail was the first thing gone. But overall it's a great toy.

can be easily carried around in the mouth
Howie has stood up well to 4 very chewy German Shorthaired Pointers. His tail is almost gone, as is one ear. But he is the right size for a 40-50 pound dog: can be easily carried around in the mouth, but not so small as to risk becoming stuck in the throat. Unlike Hilda the Hippo in this series, Howie does not have any weak spots or thin material (Hilda's mouth is thin, silky/satin-like material that lasted a day). His legs are a good thickness; helps withstand the chewing. Would buy him again, and will do so if my dogs ever manage to destroy him.

Toughish
My 5 month old Chihuahua mix managed to destroy this in less than a day. It's tougher than a standard stuffy but still easy to destroy.
