Smooth and easy, might need a little breaking in
I checked out the Basilisk v2 wired mouse the other day as it was on sale and I needed a new mouse. I used Razer products for a decade and was generally satisfied until I noticed a trend wherein any given mouse would break after a couple years. The wheel would lose traction, or one of the thumb buttons would stop responding, something like this. Can't yet speak about this product's longevity since I just got it, but I can say it feels great to use from the start. The buttons are ergonomically placed, the wheel's scroll resistance is adjustable, and the extra thumb button is easy enough to use - at least once I figured out it doesn't ship with the button ready to go. You have to remove a rubber seal over it, then remove the actual button from the interior plastic holder and seat it in. Still, that took all of a few minutes, so it wasn't so bad. The mouse glides across my hard mousepad like a dream. It's light - perhaps even too light, indicating an issue with build quality. Still it feels good when using. Also, I like how the cable is a properly braided fabric with virtually no tension from being coiled up. It goes where you expect it to go, and the cable doesn't unexpectedly shuffle the mouse around from the tension you sometimes get from stiff cables. The Synapse software was a breeze to install. In fact, I didn't have to download a separate .exe from Razer's website; simply plugging in the mouse led to a prompt to install Synapse, and off it went. I like how configurable the installation is. Don't want the extra stuff? Cool, you can choose to install only the essentials. Once it is installed, it's easy to change button bindings or color configurations, and you can set 5 different profiles as well. I also like how you can set duplicates. For instance, I switched both of the DPI buttons under the wheel to Ctrl, then I set both mouse wheel left and right to middle click. The software took the duplicates without any warnings or extra prompts, and I was all set once I clicked the Save button. The only real criticism in the initial test drive is with the middle mouse click. At first I had to apply just a bit more pressure than normal for it to actuate, and I had to do it at the center of the button. I couldn't lightly press the button like I normally do, nor could I press the button from the end closest to my hand like I often do. However, this cleared up after a day or two of use, and now the middle button actuates as expected. Overall, it feels great to use, and the two issues I encountered were quickly resolved. I'll keep an eye out to see how long it lasts. If it fits my usual experience with Razer mice, it won't be a great loss since I picked it up on sale. Still, I'd love it if it lasted longer, because it's very fine to use right now.

Great mouse
Bought this mouse almost a month ago as a replacement for my old Razer Naga since the right click would glitch sometimes and I’ve been loving it ever since. I decided to buy it because of its weight (I prefer heavier mouses), buttons, and size. I’ve been satisfied with it and appreciate the extra button it has since it can be reconfigured or used as a “clutch” as Razer calls it which means that it changes your DPI to whatever you set it to. The clutch feature could be used to allow you to be more precise with your aim, however, I don’t ever see myself using it. But it is a nice feature to have. I like the feel of it in my hands. It feels sturdy and durable it doesn’t feel cheap even though it’s only made of plastic. The grip that it has on the right thumb also feels good and adds to its feel of quality. I also like that you can change the strength or resistance of the scroll wheel. While it won’t reduce the resistance to allow you to infinitely scroll like the G502 it will reduce it enough to allow you to scroll really easily. The grip that I had to use to grab on to this mouse is one of the things that felt a little weird to me at first. Coming from a Naga which doesn’t have as much thumb support but instead more finger support it took me about a week or two to adjust my grip to it but now it feels natural. One thing I wish this mouse had would be that I wish it had bigger DPI buttons. I reconfigured my DPI buttons so that they’re “M” and “L” I use these buttons while gaming and having smaller, shorter buttons make it easier to misclick. However, I am adapting to them as time goes on and the more I use them.

Great mouse, give this mouse a chance and you won’t be disappointed
I ordered three gaming mice to choose from so I knew I was getting what I wanted. I ordered the Logitech G502 SE Hero, the Razer Viper Ultralight wired, and this mouse, the v2 basilisk. This mouse easily won out on the other two. It looks sleek, feels very comfortable to hold, is very lightweight, has very well placed buttons on the side, and glides across the mousepad with ease. My favorite part of this mouse, however, is the easily removable paddle located at the tip of the thumb on the side of the mouse. This was a dealbreaker for me with the G502. It’s button felt terrible placed and was annoying when clicked. On the basilisk however, it’s magnetic and can be removed and re-installed with ease in less than 5 seconds. It also feels very comfortable to click. The user interface is very sophisticated and intuitive, yet not overwhelming. There is a button on the bottom of the mouse that lets you change between “profiles”, (read custom button presets) with 0 effort. There is also a slider on the bottom of the mouse that lets you customize the resistance of the scroll wheel, so you can get exactly what kind of respond you want from your mouse. As someone who had been told that they are sometimes a little too picky with not-super-important things (i.e. a gaming mouse), I cannot recommend this mouse enough. I will say that I have only had this mouse for two weeks, so I can’t speak to its expected life. However, barring any complete durability malfunctions, this mouse had exceeded every expectation, and I am very pleased with this product overall. Enjoy!

Okay, so I left a 4 star rating before this for this product, but I honestly cannot in good conscience recommend it as the product I got from amazon was made in thailand, and I noticed the mouse kinda freezing in two seperate games, not just one. Hence I have returned the it.
