Does this work for indoor cycling on a trainer, with connection to an iPhone, without a bike computer? I can’t seem to pair it with any apps so far
will this record total count of spins per ride session, (not just per min)?

Work well connect right to my Apple Watch for speed and cadence

Connected right away give good speed and cadence. Use or cadence on out door bike and speed on trainer

Works exactly as advertised

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Sensor is great, easy to install, easy to use, and made my workouts on spin bike that much better because I know if I am going hard enough now. Instead of watching the video and trying too match their speed I can see right where I am at. Functionality:Basically put it on the pedal crank, start the app, use the super cycle app to monitor the sensor, and away I go.

Easy setup, does as advertised

This cadence/speed meter is super easy to setup and connect to bike computer, provides consistent data, looks sleek, and does what it says it will perfectly. Great price, only reason I’m leaving 4 stars is because my first one fell off during a ride, not sure if it was due to an error I made installing or due to a High RPM sprint while riding, but for the price I wasn’t punching the air when I noticed it fell off.

Only lasted 12 months

I purchased the 2-pack and used one for speed and one for cadence. They both worked fine for about 12 months until the cadence sensor quit. It just died. A new battery did not help. I expect simple electronic devices like this to last more than 12 months. I also found it particularly inconvenient to have to remove the battery to switch from speed to cadence. There is no indicator light (even though the instructions mention it) so it is more of a hit or miss kind of thing until you get it right.

Easy Breezy connection

Fabulous product. Easy breezy connection to my Wahoo. 1/2 price vs Wahoo sensor.

Be aware of clear plastic battery protector

Comes with battery installed but you must remove the hard-to-see clear plastic battery insulator that is in place on one side of the battery. You must remove the battery from the screw-on cover to remove the insulator. The only application that I found that I liked is Wahoo. The others all seems to be subscription services, some being VERY expensive and having whole visual environments to ride your stationary bike through. Bluetooth connectivity and general setup was quick and easy.

Old stock needs new batteries

Received these on Wednesday. Installed on Wednesday and did short test and both seemed to work properly. Went for a ride on Thursday and one unit didn't want to work. I checked my installation figuring maybe I made a mistake. Went for a ride on Friday and the first unit still did not work and the second unit failed during the ride. Brought both units inside and checked the batteries. Both read well below 3 volts. I replaced both. Reinstalled both units. One unit would not work in cadence mode but works well for speed sensing. Obviously I was aware of this because I wanted it for cadence so I removed both sensors and swapped them and reinstalled. After a short bench test both seemed to have found a home and my ride on Saturday was a real pleasure with both operational. The batteries had shipped with a plastic disk between the battery and the contacts in the units. The instruction suggest they should be good for 500H of use. Apparently these had been on the shelf somewhere too long. In addition, there may have been some form of leakage that caused the one unit not to be able to do the cadence function. In both units the red light is quite bright while the green is invisible in sunlight. The failing unit was a little less bright green suggesting that it has a problem somewhere.

Sensor and Wahoo app aren’t compatible, but Magene made good (as well as they could)

Update: Magene did (actually some time ago) offer to make good on this based on my review (money back or credit), so I can’t hold a grudge there. I’ve been through Wahoo app updates and sensor firmware updates since then hoping that this problem would resolve, but it has not. The device itself and the Wahoo app are not fully compatible. But if you find yourself in this spot, Magene will support you.Originally submitted a question, but perhaps better as review. Sensor arrived quickly, was easy to install and pair to phone per instructions. Using Wahoo fitness app in iOS, the sensor appears to give good data for cadence...but the app then no longer acquires speed and distance data...what happened? If I have to choose, I want speed and distance. To be clear, I understand that the sensor can only send speed OR cadence data...the issue is that collecting cadence data from the the sensor is somehow disabling the speed/distance data that the app normally gets from phone gps.Upon further review, the Wahoo app sees this sensor as a speed AND cadence sensor and is looking for two signals. Obviously, the sensor sends only one, and in cadence mode, the Wahoo is looking for speed, too. This causes speed and distance data to be n/a during the ride, even though gps data are collected in the background and available for review later. Don’t know how to remedy this...In further dialog with both Magene and Wahoo, they are pointing fingers. Magene says it’s an app problem and Wahoo’s solution is to buy their more expensive and single-function sensor. Ugh.
