Great product
Pros: great quality and corrosion resistance, especially the guides; on the heavier side action-wise for a telescopic pole, and the actual weight of the rod (around 260 g or 9.2 oz) is manageable for a solid glass rod; 8 ft length is good for surf species in SoCal (I pair it with 4500 Penn Spinfisher with 12 lb mono or 20 lb braid throwing 1-1.5 oz)Cons: no screw off cap at butt end, as others have stated, so difficult to clean from sand and saltwater, however the foam butt end is comfortable to rest on thigh while holding rod in handsOverall: I have ordered dozens of different telescopic rods and this is one of the best I have found in the US at this price especially

Excellent quality for the price
Very sturdy, well made. Surprisingly great quality at this price point. Compact for backpacking it in to difficult to access fishing spots. A good find.

Great value
Is this a 200 rod? No. Is it way better than expected for $30? Absolutely!Holding up great to moderate weight bait, and catches. No issues from saltwater exposure (flushed nightly as any gear should be) Purchased 2 more since

So far, so good!
I needed a travel rod for beach vacation. Small enough to fit amongst all the kids stuff, but still long and heavy enough for surf fishing. With a Penn5000, this setup has been great for casting or bait throwing so far.

The tip came out at first pull.
Got the rod in a good sturdy package. Took it out and tried to extend. All sections extended OK except the tip. The tip slid out with a light pull. The previous section is not cracked or damaged. I guess they ground too much from the tip and it is too loose.
