Nicely done Display Model... but not the best subject choice.
As a Firefly fan (post-cancellation - I tried to watch it when it was on the air but could never seem to find it, which seems to have been an intentional effort on the part of a rather stupid network executive who thought this sort of thing was "dumb"), I've picked up quite a few Firefly/Serenity memorabilia items over the past several years. I have the Serenity ornament (the best available model of the Firefly class transport, right now, unless you want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars for a truly superb model available from a specialty house out in California, complete with full animated lighting and so forth... WAY outside of my price range, sadly!), and I recently picked up the shuttle ornament and this one.The other two "ornaments"... and from here on out, I'm going to call them what they really are, "display models"... are fantastic. They are as accurate as I can imagine for a model of that size and scale, and the finish in wonderful. On a quality basis, I think that this model is perhaps slightly less detailed, overall. The detail seems... and this is subjective, mind you... a bit softer. But it's still very nicely put together and is a great model of the subject it's based upon.My only real quibble with this model is that the choice of ship to be presented was... curious. We saw only one Reaver ship during the "Firefly" series, and this was based upon the movie so they couldn't use that one... but there were a lot of Reaver ships seen in the movie, and I remembered several of them. The one that stands out, to me, the most, is the one which pursued Serenity down to the planet surface. It was the only "major player" Reaver ship, in plot terms, and is the one we see the most of.And that's not THIS ship. I don't even remember seeing this ship, actually. I'll go back and rewatch the movie to figure out if I can find this ship in the film. (Maybe it's one of those which show up in the initial sequence above the town?) But it's not the best choice for a Reaver ship. I want to see the ship that... well, that laid to rest the "leaf in the wind." (Trying to avoid spoilers here!)

it is what it is:} if your a serenity firefly fan this is for you
the packaging protection is good and the product is of good quality. it comes with a stand which is convenient but it can be hung as an ornament on something. also the price is a bit pricy but the toy is worth it. the paint job is standard but the details are intricate.

This is just meh
I love Serenity/firefly and I thought this would be a good gift to myself. It doesn't sit straight on its stand and doesn't appear to be that good of quality.

Reaver Ornament
This was a bit of a disappointment. For the price, I expected a larger toy - I guess "ornament" should have been a clue. It's tiny and doesn't conjur images of Mal & crew escaping the Reavers. Advice: be content with the picture. The product itself adds little value.
