Perfect tool for heat-shrink tubing
This is an excellent product specifically designed for use with heat-shrink tubing. As such, it runs at one temperate. This means it is not really designed to be used as a paint stripper or other applications where different temperatures are required. If you want a swiss-army-knife heat gun with adjustable temperate, look elsewhere. If you want the best tool for use with heat-shrink tubing, this is the tool you want.It runs very quiet and performs very well. I have used it to shrink tubing on 15.000 wires, of course in multiple sessions. It worked perfectly and efficiently and still looks and operates like new. The removable stand and adjustable, removable heat guide are very functional and well designed. I have bought many tools over the years and I am very picky about my tools. This is one of the few I consider the perfect tool for the job intended.

Excellent product
This is one of those tools that you always tell yourself you don't really need. There's always some quick and dirty alternative like a Bic lighter. After spending more time applying triple wall 3/4" heat shrink tubing than cutting and crimping six lugs on a battery cable, again, I was more than fed up with the 'quick and dirty' techniques. This is SOOOOO much better! I was concerned that this wouldn't get hot enough for the big, heavy heat shrink that I normally use on battery cables, but its more than adequate. The other reviewers are correct - it is VERY quiet. I always dread building wiring harnesses and cables. This at least makes the job a lot less tedious.

Slow to Heat up
I read in reviews that people liked this because it is quite, It is quite because the fan is at a really low speed, which you can do with most heat guns!I make Signs & you have to wait for it to get up to temperature every time you turn it off, which in my business is a pain.build quality seems to be good. But I am not happy with the purchase...

Great tool - except when it fails after 6 months
Our engineering team likes this heat gun. But, I'm disappointed in the lifespan. We purchased the heat gun in June 2016 and it now has failed (Feb 2017).

It's a little slower than the larger machine but it is Super Quiet so the technicians like it better
We use this for heat shrinking up to 500 connectors a day. It's a little slower than the larger machine but it is Super Quiet so the technicians like it better! Quality construction and you can replace heating elements and other parts as they wear out without having to buy a new gun.

Just the right size...
This tool is just the right size for many jobs that require a medium amount of heat: more than hot water but less than a torch. Its design purpose is applying heat-shrink tubing to cover and protect wires or cords. It easily shrinks the tubing without being so hot as to scorch surfaces or easily melt solder. It is also great for removing sticky labels from packaging. The heat easily melts the glue but does not quickly burn paper. What makes the Master-Mite different from other heat-gun or blow-dryer tools is its fan. The fan rotates relatively slowly, providing enough draft to move the hot air to where you need it, but not so much as to blow the heat away. Thus it seems that the 400 watts from this tool does a whole lot more useful heating than the high speed blast from a 1200 watt blow-dryer. It is also quiet - you can talk with your co-worker or student while using it.

and I got it easily and quickly
Master Appliance 10008: I've used these things off&on for years! Although I have tried other brands, other similar items, there is NOTHING that beats the Master Appliance 10008 for efficiency, effectiveness, reliability, endurance, and ease of use. So when I found that I had to get another one, I knew exactly what to get, and I got it easily and quickly. I highly recommend that anyone who has a use for a heat gun, find a direct route to Master Appliance, and get a 10008. You won't be disappointed, at all.

The industry standard, for a good reason
Master still makes great products right here in the US, the same way they've been doing for decades. Very quiet, very hot, excellent performance, and the right accessories included. All for a very reasonable price. Good job, Master!

Heat shields were better 20 years ago
Otherwise it's the same tool that I had stolen and it's a favorite.
