Book of knowledge
I was asked to make a few comments about this little book, which I got some time ago... The question is, is it any good.. The answer is yes, most all books are.. But how good? Well, it is good enough that I kept it.. Like all little books like this, I always find something helpful in them, and I suppose that is the purpose of buying them.. Will this book make you a great photographer? Nope. None of the books will, but each one will take you one step closer to that goal, if in fact that is where you want to go... Should you buy it, yes.. It is a neat little book..

FOR BEGINNERS
I'm an amateur photographer. I used this book by just thumbing through it, reading only sections that inform me. Actually, I read a lot of sections.Visual Quick Tips is clearly written and has very practical information. And the price is right. Serious amateur photographers should know everything in this book. Of course, many other books do exist. This should NOT be your first choice. You should first get a book written expressly for your new camera or a beginners book. Then get this book - or one similar but more up to date.Photo technology is moving fast, but you can start at the beginning and expand quickly towards your own narrow special interests. Specialization is the key to success in many fields. Be fast on learning and slow on buying equipment.

Highly recommended!
Visual Quick Tips is definitely is on my "don't leave home without it" list. It is an essential part of anyone's photo bag. For the beginner to expert, Visual Quick Tips stimulates your creativity, reminds you of solutions, and increases the "dynamic range" of your thinking! It is like having a professional photographer readily available as a mentor whispering in your ear "Try this". Easy to read, easy to find your topic, it concisely gives you the answer on how to get a WOW picture. I have a library of photography "how-to" books, but this one, on two, pages, taught me more about depth of field and assessing the shooting conditions then all of them combined! Sometimes you need a book not to just give you the answers, but to help you ask the questions that will let you take better pictures. Just when I thought it covered everything, I got to the back chapters on organizing, printing and creative ways of sharing photos! This is one book that will be well used! And the best part is its size is so easy to slip into a pocket or small camera case. I highly recommend it to all digital photographers! I know you will enjoy it. Joyce Carmel
