Sturdy, works well
Very happy with this staple remover. Was having a lot of difficulty removing the staples that my electric staple gun shoots because they are very sturdy, long, and narrow. Had tried numerous types of pliers and a normal staple remover to no avail. This thing just slips right under the head and easily fulcrums them right out...enough to pull with pliers. It's not a fault of the staple remover, but the staples that my gun uses are too long for this tool to completely pull them out. But pulling the rest out with pliers once the head is nice and exposed is very easy.Very sturdy construction, handle feels comfortable in the hand, really not worried about this tool ever breaking. Would recommend if you have any kind of industrial staples that need removing.

Works Great
Finally a tool that really works by getting the whole staple out. I was having lots of breakage with the crowbar. Just take your time and don’t rush it.. sometimes rocking it on really tight staples help. If I got overconfident I broke the staples off and then it’s hard to pull the broken off piece out.

Helps reduce hand fatigue
I'm finding that this tool is very beneficial in removing what is getting to feel like a thousand stapes from the bottom of each dining room chair that I'm in the process of reupholstering. I've never reupholstered anything before. (I'm beginning to understand why.) I started out using a standard screwdriver and pliers. I figured out very quickly that using just those tools killed my wrists because of the need to grip and pry so hard and that made my hands ach after just a short while. I started using the Air Locker tool and that helped immensely. I found that I still had to use the screwdriver to get under the stapes and just give them a slight bend. It didn't take much of a bend but it was required in order to get the new tool under the staple. Quite often, if you push the tool completely under the staple, you can rock the tool back (push the handle down and the business part of the tool comes up) and not only does the staple come completely out but the tool hangs onto the staple so that it doesn't go flying off somewhere. You still need all three tools available when removing staples but the process is simple and you quickly determine what works best for you. I go through with the screwdriver on a row of staples, then use the new tool on them, then go back with the pliers and remove any staples that still have one leg in the wood. The plastic handle on this tool is comfortable to use and the entire tool is big enough to get the job done right. The tip of the tool is tapered so that it isn't blunt but as I mentioned before, you almost always need to start off with a screwdriver unless your staples are already a bit loose.I highly recommend this tool.

Perfect for murdering your couch
I’m a romance novelist selling books on Amazon, so settle in, because I’ve got a story.I hate the couch in the photos above. It’s an ugly couch found on the curb. It wasn’t comfortable. It was literally a random curb couch from the streets of Allston, MA. It was stained. It was gross. It had to go.A roommate insisted we bring it into our home and when they moved out they left it. Well, everyone ended up moving out but the couch stayed and I still hated it.This monstrosity took up a lot of my room and I decided enough was enough. It had to go. There was one problem. We couldn’t get the couch out the door.Moving it into an entirely empty apartment took around five men and someone had to take the door off the hinges to get it in the apartment. We live in a higher floor of our apartment which has narrow stairs. That meant the couch had to go out in pieces. My boyfriend wanted to use a chainsaw. He didn’t know how to disassemble a couch. Luckily chainsaws aren’t sold at our CVS.I got the staple remover and there it sat. I didn’t use it because I was scared - scared of messing up and having half a sofa just sitting there, splintery, terrible, a hazard to health and testament to my failings.Well the couch is gone now. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the staple remover.I put on some Real Housewives (Beverly Hills, natch) and while I watched perfect women in perfect homes, I perfected my home - by murdering my couch in a premeditated way. I got in gross old clothes and used this tool to remove as many staples as I could find and I ripped every last thing off this couch. The learning curve for this is low. It’s pretty self explanatory. Check out a video online if you are confused. This is for upholstery staples. A regular staple remover is different. You slid the tip under a staple and move the tool forward. The staple is “slowly” moved out. I didn’t wear gloves and the tool ended up hitting and cutting my hand and under my nail a few times and that’s my fault. Get gloves. Don’t speedily do this. When I removed the staples they kind of flew everywhere. This would be a five star product if there was a way for this tool to catch the staples. I think if this was magnetized that would be great. It could catch the staples and also help someone find staples.Over two or three full days I was able to disassembly my own awful couch. It did need to get cut in half to get carried to the curb in pieces but that was because the wood frame was held together with other materials - not staples.Even though we used a saw to cut the couch apart in the end, removing the upholstery meant that only a few quick cuts had to be made, rather than big cuts through wood and through upholstery. It made the removal process easier and faster and cleaner. My hand hurt from doing this job but it wasn’t the fault of the tool. The tool has an okay curved grip. This wasn’t good for reaching staples inside and around the curves of my sofa’s arms but it was fine for everything else.I’m a 270 lb. physically unfit woman and I was able to tear the meat off this couch with this tool in just a few days. This was my first time deupholstering anything and this tool made it a breeze.I recommend wearing gloves and googles and all other safety gear and having a magnet to pick up staples. I didn’t and got hurt, but I am not taking points off for that because that was my lazy fault. Follow safety precautions using this or any other tool. Please note this will not take your entire couch apart. My couch was also put together with nails and screws and glue and evil magic. This is specifically for removing the fabric and foam that might be staples to your couch. My couch had various nasty clusters of staples. Look out for those. One thing this tool let me do was use the staple remover to remove a bunch of staples so I could have something to hold onto. I would then pull the rest of the fabric up using my handhold and the staples would pop out of the wood. I was only able to “unzip” the fabric from the wood that way because I had loosened my handhold using the staple remover. Not every item uses upholstery staples. Check for them before you use this tool. This tool doesn’t work miracles. It just removes staples.

Removing staples under chair is hard
We bought this one and another style. Hands down this unit was more comfortable. After a few extractions with this unit you will realize how comfortable it it. The action of having to push with a staple extraction tool is key here. It has a nice rounded end which keeps your hand from hurting. The other unit we returned was very painful after 3 staple extractions. Used on under chair upholstery and my wife's motor cycle seat. Works great and good quality for the price.

Good not great. Another tool was better.
I'm sure these work well in a lot of applications. The tip was too wide to use with the type of carpet padding and plywood staples That I needed to get out and even on the ones that were wide enough it was easier to use a rounded tip nail snip to rock and pull them out. (I'm not sure what that tool is actually called).
