A Heart Warming Story
If you're looking for a book that is refreshing and not filled with a lot of sexual content, violence or strong language, then you'll enjoy "June Bug" written by Chris Fabry. The book is a little over 300 pages and I found it to be a quick read. As I completed one chapter, I was eager to begin the next chapter. There were a few times when I felt that the story sort of dragged, but then it would quickly pick up again. I purchased a few copies of "June Bug" and plan to use it for a book study with my adult learners."June Bug" is a story about a father and daughter who travels and lives in a beat up RV. They often would stop at a Walmart parking lot to lodge for a few days before moving on. At one particular stop, a Walmart worker befriends June Bug and her dad. At this same Walmart, June Bug discovers a photo that looks a lot like her on a missing child flyer. Thus, a lot of truths need to be unburied.Whether you're looking for a book for yourself or to give to someone else, I believe that you will enjoy reading "June Bug". You'll be cheering the little girl on and hoping that she'll be able to live a happy life after she learns the truth about her past.If you have any questions about the book, feel free to ask. I think teens and adults will like "June Bug".

Six Stars!
Oh, that I could give this one six stars! Seriously, I read a LOT, and this is the best book I have read in a very long time. I was very pleasantly surprised since it's not really the genre that I normally hang out in. I need very compelling content to keep my interest and that usually takes the form of a well written murder mystery which has many twists and turns and is not easily solved. Frankly, I'm surprised I would even purchase a story about a little girl traveling around the country with her dad in an RV in the first place. There was that little element of mystery surrounding her origin that drew me in...and hooked me immediately. This is the first book I've read of Mr. Fabry's. He is a masterful storyteller, the best I have come across in a while, and this book hits all the right spots. The pace was perfect and I never wanted to put it down. The characters were real, with personalities that were believable, relatable, and multi-dimensional. The voice of June Bug read just like a normal, yet precocious, nine-year-old girl who will steal your heart at first meeting. Up to the very end, I couldn't figure out a way that the story could end well, but ...OK, I won't spoil it, but I was definitely surprised and just a little sad. I'll let you decide. This book is refreshingly clean, with no worries about offensive language, violence, or sexual content. There is a very strong, positive underlying message about the meaning of life and human nature in this story. June Bug is very well written and well edited. I'm an editor and only noted one or two minor transgressions, which is virtually unheard of these days. VERY highly recommended. This book will satisfy your craving for a mystery and warm your heart all at the same time!

what a twisting story
I hadn't read anything by this author before. However after reading the first few sentences in this book it had my attention and I knew I had to read this book. A young girl who finds her picture on a missing child poster in a store. She realises that life as she knows it may be way different than she thought. The guy she had always called dad might not be her dad. This is a long twirling story that kept me guessing until the end.I however felt lost at times because it was jumping around to much with many points of view constantly going between characters. This kept things interesting but confusing.June bug and the man she knows as dad live in an rv traveling around all over the place. They don't have much but aren't complaining they have each other and that is enough. I had to know what their story was and how their lives would be changed. This story is fast paced. I thought this book was pretty good though a little rushed though especially at the end. There was many likeable characters that helped to keep this story flowing along. I enjoyed reading and watching the story unfold but I felt it could've been better.

loved it completely
The very 1st. sentence catches your attention & keep it throughout the entire book. Well received, loved it completely. I have bought several of the Books & passed them on to family & friends. The old Gospel songs is a plus & the sacred Scriptures blessed my heart & soul. Thank you Chris Fabry' may the LORD continue to inspire you to keep writing. I am now reading "Almost Heaven" another one of Chris Fabry's masterpieces. I can't put the Book down. My heart is blessed, & warm with so much of emotions & love for this Author & his ability to put in words the gift of faith, endurance & purpose. Keep trusting GOD & not rely on your own understanding; wait on the LORD. Chris Fabry----you are my new best Author.

Unexpected surprise!
June Bug was an unexpected surprise and I thoroughly enjoyed it. In the beginning, I wasn't really sure what tone this book was going to have or how it was going to end, bit the suspense was well woven and I was kept guessing right until the end. I loved the way all the different characters' points of view intertwined and bits of backstory were gradually revealed. All the characters -- June, Johnson, Mae, Preston -- were strongly portrayed and their part in the story pivotal.I will say, not as a criticism but on observation, that there is a religious overtone in this story. It never intrudes or comes across as preachy, but instead increases the depth of the story. This is sure to be one of my favorite reads this year.

Through the eyes of a nine year old
I enjoyed every minute of this story and fell in love with June Bug and her father. The story unfolded slowly and gently, setting up the unusual circumstances of June Bugs life without revealing the mystery until the end. The bittersweet ending rounded off a great story.

interesting story
I would give five stars, but have heard there is always room for improvement. The story was captivating and interesting. Of course Chris Fabry has a "way with the words" in print and alive so I am not surprised how much I enjoyed this story. Good reading!
