Beware Negative Reviews
I read all the negative reviews and was a little cautious about ordering this holster. I was especially concerned about the reviews dealing with the ambidextrous safety and not being able to carry cocked and locked with the safety on. I am a lefty so my 1911 Commander has ambi safety. I had decided the price was right and I could always cut the Kydex to make it work like some other reviewers described.Holster arrived today and I was amazed. I guess the manufacturer had listened because the channel for the ambi safety was wide which permitted carrying with safety on or off. In addition, the holster fit my 1911 commander with a 4.25 inch barrel like a glove. Didn’t even need to mess with the tensioning screw. The holster covers the trigger and mag release comfortably. The last feature I liked was the clip which attaches to your pants/belt. The clip was plastic which may affect durability long term, but the tension was perfect. Easy enough to pull open when putting it on and taking it off but stiff enough to hold holster in place when drawing. The only issue “might” be the long tern durability of the plastic clip. But at this price I would gladly order another if it breaks.

Fits LH Commancer 4.25
I really like this holster. I am left handed, have a Tisa 1911 Carry/commander model with 4.25" barrel, and ambidextrous safety. This holster fits this gun perfectly. If you are not aware, ambi safeties and LH holsters can be a problem, both fitment and accidentally pushing the safety to fire position while in the holster. This holster has ample space for the safety and that is not an issue. I always carry a gun in a holster for a least a week, cocked and locked, but on an empty chamber just in case the holster trips the safety. This holster works perfectly and I now carry it loaded, cocked, and locked. It fits exactly a 4.25 barrel. A 4.5 or 5 would be too long to fit as the end is 'semi-closed'. A 4" would fit with .25" to spare. I also like that the holster uses phillips head screws rather than some tiny hex heads as I never seem to have a wrench around when I need to tighten them. It's a great value and I will be ordering a RH one as I sometimes carry on that side also. Some critics say the kydex is thin. It is, but that also helps with the bulk of concealment when carry IWB that way it's supposed to be.

Nice IWB holster for a surplus pistol.
My inexpensive, surplus Star BM is a 1911 commander style pistol. It's a little shorter. This Pole.craft kydex taco type holster fits it. I was looking for something for not a lot and well made. Got it. There is a little rattle, but retention is secure. The trigger guard snaps in. Good belt clip. Got the tan color to compliment new G10 grips. There are two retention adjustment screws. Edges are polished. Fits my Springfield Ronin like a glove, but this for the Star.

great holster for great price
Very nice minimalist holster. Fits my Springfield 1911 RO compact perfectly. It was a little too snug and difficult to draw, but a couple left turns on the screws loosened it up just right. The belt clip seems like good quality and I don't have to worry about it breaking and it grabs my belt tightly when drawing

Don’t believe negative reviews
I too was concerned about the negative reviews. However, I only had to adjust the tension screws and my 1911 fit perfect

Not carefully or properly assembled. There's a reason this holster is cheap.
I bought this holster for my Colt Combat Commander Series 80 45. When It arrived, I couldn't put the pistol into the holster. I had to completely loosen the two bottom screws before it would go in. The rubber spacers used by the manufacturer were obviously too small. And when I adjusted the screws to allow the weapon to be inserted, there was no positive "click" or feel that made the weapon feel secure. It doesn't look like a claw can be added either. The only things that were right was that the holster felt comfortable at the two o'clock position, and the channel for the safety was well placed. So when the weapon was in the holster, there was no fear of the safety being inadvertently being pushed off. I have spare parts to use as spacers and tools to reform the holster, so I'll keep the holster.

Fits Dan Wesson Commander great!
I’ve owned many custom kydex holsters (due to my choice of weapon light/gun combo) as well as leather. Milt sparks, tulster, desantis, etc. this holster while being on the thinner side of kydex is molded nicely with very little extra material. It’s made to either be straight up and down or canted and the two retention screws do function. I’d recommend pull-the-dot loops over the belt clip but that’s personal preference. I can’t comment on longevity but being kydex it’ll take a beating I’m sure. Great price for what you get. I’m using it for my Dan Wesson Valor V-Bob as a backup holster to my milt sparks criterion.

Not a good fit for my 4 inch Kimber CDPII
While My Kimber CDPII, with a 4 inch barrel fit in the holster, it was very snug even with the retention screw back all the way out. However at all retention setting, it never locked in, as do normal with various other Kydex holsters. I can only assume it would be the same with a Commander. Yes I know, "you get what you pay for."
