Comes surprisingly well sharpened ...
First, I liked the price! Then I liked the length of the tool ... it seems to be longer than others out there. Therefore, it can take more sharpenings ... which of course means it offers a longer tool life!

Great quality
Can’t beat the quality for the cost. I own a bunch of different brands of lathe tools, many that cost twice as much, but for the money you can’t beat Hurricane Turning Tools.

Great for green oak bowls
Large and solid. Easy to sharpen the existing Irish grind. The only problems I have encountered are operator error.

Excellent bowl gouge.
Well balanced and stays sharp longer than standard Hurricane tools or other M2 tools. However I don't mind sharpening so use a lot of their standard M2 tools to save money. Just thought I'd try a premium tool to test the difference. Probably worth the price difference if you dislike sharpening. Plus less sharpening will extend useful life which helps justify extra cost.

Good quality gouge
