Awesome Read
Love this book however I don’t know why Christians are trying to relate this book to JC. This book has NOTHING to do with JC or Christianity at all. Nothing states or says JC or Christianity in this book. Stop inserting him and your religion in it. However great read and I learned so much about Hitbodedut!

A book for Apostles & Prophets
This isn't for the babes in Christ and this book is to be taken seriously. Very grounded in the word not a quick read because it's contents are to be put into practice. The author is Jewish and writes from a Prechrist perspective but that doesn't discount him. He give you an understanding on what a prophet of God was and is from the jewish community perspective and is a vital mystery to know that will bring greater clarity and order to this present generation of prophetic Ministry. This book is more helpful to mature Christians who know Christ and want to walk in the deeper mysteries of God. This is simply a practical and different aproach about prayer and how it was really done during the days of the prophets. Every prophet and Apostle should own this book and Keep on hand.

Fun, Fascinating, and Inspiring
I started reading this book this morning and literally did not put it down until I had read the whole thing. This is an educational read for anyone looking to learn more about the meaning of Biblical texts in the Judeo-Christian religions. If you are looking to expand your understanding of contemplative spiritual practice, this book will give you a lot to think about. This will be meaningful to you if you are Jewish, Christian, studying Kabbalah, a Vajrayana Buddhist, or a student of the Advaita Vedanta. Also, a student of the Sopia Perennis will find this book meaningful. On top of all that it is extremely enjoyable as a read.

Missing link
This book is one of a trio, with Jewish Meditation and Meditation & Kabbalah, of books written by Aryeh Kaplan on this very important subject. All three blend into each other. JM is a primer of sorts with the other two providing more detailed information. Gold mine of information. Very important work which it seems to me has been neglected by the general public, Jewish or otherwise. Highly recommended. I would also suggest getting two other works by Mark Verman, both offered on Amazon.

COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!
Rabbi Kaplan was obviously a brilliant man who did much research and translation to write this book. It explains much about the Divine and how other religions "borrowed" what had always been a Jewish practice...meditation.

Insightful
Insightful and thought provoking. There is the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) and false spirits. The difference is very well spelt out and documented. Let's beware!
