Great light weight, nutritious trail food
This is a great mix of several beans. Light weight, tasty, and nutritious. Before heading out on the trail, I tested these to see how quickly they cook up. My method is to boil the water, pour in the beans, and let sit in insulation pouch (with not extra heat or flame). Normally, I like to have foods that reconstitute in 10-15 minutes. These beans to just that. Even the black beans were soft and tasty. There was only one bean (navy I think) that did not fully reconstitute - but even that one was palatable. I would definitely recommend these for trail food. I mix with a dried veggie soup mix for a complete meal.

Backpackers Dream!
Got this for my JMT thru hike. I wanted to funk up my Knorr pasta meals and it did just that. So much nutrients in beans and legumes! I didn't even cook it that long (to preserve fuel). I boiled the water, added this and the knorr pasta in boiling water, then covered up the pot with insulation and waited 10-15 minutes till the pasta and beans were fully soft. It worked beautifully. No need to presoak. I'm ordering their other sampler packs! This is super light and really bulks up the dish with delicious and nutrient rich food. Backpacker's dream for sure!

USE THIS IN YOUR WEEKLY MEAL PLANNING AND IN YOUR LONG TERM FOOD STORAGE PLANNING
All of the beans and legumes were fabulous! Made a great chili using the black beans, dark red kidney beans and pintos added veggies from the Harmony House Veggie Sampler and my own seasonings, added ground beef and WOW O WOW fabulous. ALSO I was able to "toy" around with my recipe to prevent me from making too much and having a lot left over that. may or may not get consumed (placing in freezer or fridge and forgetting about it) thereby reducing my food waste. I highly recommend you keep these in your daily use pantry and in your long term food storage plans!

Super easy and delicious. I used them in chili and Italian bean soup. I've never had luck with dried beans but these were perfect!

Love Their Food!
I have brought this company's freeze dried food before and I am a repeat customer. The food is easy to prepare and quite tasty. I keep several boxes on hand just in case. I have found them to be handy in various situations and I can honestly recommend this particular brand of food. Also they offer quite a variety and they are vegetarian friendly as well.

Delicious and easy!
These are delicious and so easy to cook. You don't have to cook for an hour or soak like other dried beans. They saved me a couple of times when I needed a meal in a hurry.

We very much enjoy these as they taste pretty well
We very much enjoy these as they taste pretty well. We have made them with freeze dried chicken and three chicken bullion and freeze dried beef cubes and three beef bullion. For seasoning we just used black pepper and some crushed red peppers. We put the beans and seasoning on in a pot of water and bring it to a boil at which time we add whatever meat we are using. We let the mixture simmer covered for 20 - 25 minutes stirring occasionally. We have even made red beans and rice by adding some Minute Rice about a two to three minutes before it is time to take the pot off the heat. We add extra water, usually 3/4 to 1.5 cups, depending on what we are cooking and what we may add. We have intentionally have kept our recipes simple for camping trips and such. Finally, the sampler packs come in a very convenient size, especially if you add ingredients, to make a meal for two people.

For Special Use
Made this part of a gift with a rice cooker to a friend in West Point, where the cooking is lousy! Nice addition to the rice cooker. Not something I would buy every day though. Can buy bags of beans in the supermarket for far less money!
