Has anyone ever had a problem when playing from a cd-r/rw?

I haven’t encountered any issues with playing this media type thus far however if the media was not correctly “ripped and burned” you may encounter an playing issue on any such device. Hope this helps :) Dr B

What's the difference between the dxc390 and the dx390-b? both are the same price. is one newer?

Dxc390 came out in 2006. Dx390-b came out in 2013.

Nope, in fact the rule of thumb use to be turn on and leave on electronic equipment during the warranty period. If it's going to fail that when it will fail.
