A Professional-Grade Bread Knife That Cuts Effortlessly and Outperforms Its Price
The Victorinox Fibrox 10.25-Inch Bread Knife is one of those rare kitchen tools that immediately elevates your cooking experience. From the first slice, it’s clear why this knife is a favorite among chefs and home bakers alike. The ergonomics are excellent—the Fibrox handle sits comfortably and securely in the hand, offering a non-slip grip even when cutting through crusty or dense breads. The weight is balanced perfectly, making long slicing motions feel controlled and smooth rather than tiring. The blade itself is exceptional. The serrations are razor-sharp and designed with precision, allowing the knife to glide through everything from artisan sourdough to soft brioche without crushing or tearing. Tomatoes, cakes, pineapples, and thick-skinned melons also fall cleanly under this blade, expanding its usefulness far beyond bread alone. The cutting ability rivals knives that cost two to three times as much, and the edge retention is impressive for such a reasonably priced tool. Packaging is minimal but protective, exactly what you’d expect from a brand focused on performance over flash. The knife arrives sharp, clean, and ready to use. The only drawback is the inherent challenge of sharpening a serrated bread knife—something that takes a bit of practice or a special tool. That said, Victorinox serrations hold their edge much longer than straight blades, so sharpening isn’t needed often. What sets this knife apart is its combination of light weight, strong balance, and professional performance. It feels nimble yet substantial, and the handle-to-blade ratio makes it easy to make long, clean cuts without sawing. Compared to premium bakery or German-made bread knives, the Fibrox model competes head-to-head in real performance while staying at a much more accessible price. Pros • Extremely sharp serrated blade that cuts cleanly without crushing • Comfortable, secure Fibrox handle with excellent ergonomics • Lightweight yet well-balanced for long, steady slicing • Exceptional value compared to premium bread knives • Versatile for bread, pastries, fruit, and soft foods Cons • Sharpening serrated edges requires practice If you want a bread knife that performs like a professional tool, stays sharp, and delivers incredible value, the Victorinox Fibrox 10.25-Inch Bread Knife is an easy choice—and one that quickly becomes indispensable in any kitchen.

Does as advertised
Due to all the preservatives in store brought bread my beautiful husband has been experiencing bloating. So, I have return to baking homemade loaf bread. His bloating issues are now resolved. Thank God! However, I had another dilemma. I needed a good something to help me slice my bread as close to store bought bread as possible. Well as you can see from the video I struck gold with this beautiful gadget!! I hope it doesn't dull out anytime soon. I read where some reviewers cut themselves using this knife. I find that impossible unless you are careless in how you use any knife. Pros: (1). Feels light but balance (2). Well constructed (3). Sharp (4.). Ease to use (5). Good value for the money Cons (1). None so far A steady handy and a good knife will produce the bread thickness desired. Keeper😂

Satisfying single-slice bread cutting.
I buy uncut bread from fabulous local bakers. This always produces the very best slices. I switched to another bread-knife for a picnic, and realized how much happier I was with this tool in my kitchen.

Sharp, but makes crooked cuts if you're not careful
This is my first decent-quality bread knife. It is indeed sharp, has a comfortable handle, etc. as many have expounded upon and as Amazon's 4.9-star rating attests. The edge of the blade is ground from one side only. That means that it tends to cut at an angle from the position of the blade as it enters the bread. In other words, you hold the knife straight vertically as you start to cut, but the knife tends to slip at a significant angle as it slices the bread. This is most noticeable on harder and crustier breads (baguettes and the like). This might be common on bread knives, I don't know. It's not a critical issue, but does take some getting used to if you want straight, even, nice-looking slices. On the plus side, my knife came in a plastic sleeve which I am using in my drawer as a blade protector. I was pleasantly surprised. My deducted star is for the angle thing, which can be overcome with practice. Other than that, it is an awesome knife.

Light, sharp, flexible knife.
We are thoroughly enjoying this knife. It's super sharp and the length is awesome for cutting into a boule'. I'm glad I got the longer knife for that reason. It's also convenient for cutting on the diagonal. I've used the entire length of the knife after being concerned it might be overkill. The length of this knife has also been essential for doing wonderfully straight slices. I love that. Since a bread knife is supposed to be used as a miniature saw and the sawing motion does the work of cutting, the length really needs to be sufficient. I'm glad I went with the longer length. I also read that there is a little flex to the blade, and there is. This hasn't reduced its effectiveness at cutting. However, when I cooked a more delicate bread in a dutch oven it came out darker than I prefer, the flex of this knife made it possible to shave off some thin strips from the top and bottom with ease and safety. I find I have tremendous control with my cutting using this knife. I wouldn't have been able to do this with my old bread knife. The only down side of the length is the leverage is slightly reduced nearer the top 2-3 " of the knife for me. Meaning that on a thicker crust, I had to do some more concentrated sawing with pressure to get though the bottom crust near the top of the knife. I would have had to do that with any knife. The clean up is a snap and it's ready to use at an instant. This is a terrific knife and a good value. I'm happy to have it!

Others mentioned it, and I wondered. Effortless, crumbless. And by crumbs, it is! My partner (which couldn't care less for knives) had been struggling with out James Martin bread knife. It never cut well and made a mess. Often I resorted to the large chef's knife to get a proper slice, but would start cuts with the bread knife (especially hard crust breads). Which is too much messing around. So I looked around for something not at a ridiculous price but that would put some good service in. And I found the Victorinox. The seller (Juwelier Malysiak_1) and amazon (delivery) did a good job, with delivery on the 3rd day. At £24 delivered, was an decent price for such quality. Yes, the back is curvy so you can't use it to scrape a cutting board, but its a very small curve, so I don't feel it's a problem. I saw a comparison in your favourite tube site from an American test kitchen and boy were they thorough. It came a close second in the tests (to a £150 bread knife) and ahead of anything else including much more expensive knives! The cut is indeed virtually perfect, it even blew the socks of my partner. She cut a slice, shouted her amazement how easy it was! We then tried to cut a very thin slice to push the limits, well, there was no trying! A 3mm slice was cut just as easily as a normal one - could've gone thinner but obviously there's no point to it! It surprised me - but because the whole cut was so clean the slice supported itself all the way without holding! I know.. its a bread knife, but it beggars belief how good it is. Its going to be the selected knife for bread and carving. And with some care not to damage the edge and a lifetime guarantee from victorinox it will probably be passed down to my baby son!... :) You're still reading? Just treat yourself and get one!

Cuts artisan loaves super easily. In addition, this knife will cut raw dough extremely well so I use it for scoring artisan bread. No need for anything else. Wonderful for cutting tomatoes as well! I was asked to rate three features - value for money, sturdiness ans "warmth". I cannot give a rating for "warmth" as this is not an appropriate feature for this product.
