Personally, I believe this collar is made with better quality materials, and it most definitely has more padding than Kong dog collars. This particular collar has anti itch, and anti rash amenities. Switching my dog's collar from a Kong to this Dogness collar has literally decreased my Siberian Husky's scratching by 91.6% !! I am very impressed about the security of the collar not being able to slip over my dog's head. The collar has a nice metal buckle and it also has a Velcro loop that helps prevent the collar from loosening, or falling off if for some reason the metal buckle would happen to come undone. The metal buckle is really nice, well constructed and a tight fit. When I received the collar I did have to fidget around with it to make sure that it was at the correct size and also to become familiar with it, but once you learn how to tighten and loosen the collar then you will be very impressed with it. The red collar that we have chosen is a nice vivid color. The collar also has reflectors that go around it and you can even see it during the day time.Since I'm very pleased with buying this collar I'm going to purchase their matching leash, or their black leash to go with it.I hope this review is helpful in making your decision.

This collar in XSmall is way too bulky!! The material seems great, I like the dangle charm, I like the color of the collar and hardware but for my tiny little 7 pound baby,,, its too much ! The extra doubles the width, the velcro hook adds more bulk... too too too much !! I showed a picture of the second collar I had to buy, see the difference in bulk ??!!?? Maybe the collar would be great in larger sizes? For the price it seems good but I can't use it on my baby,,, for less than $8.00 I don't have time to return it,,, so my $8.00 goes to the trash I guess. I will probably donate it.

I bought this as a casual collar for my maltepoo, Millie! She’s under ten pounds and is more poodle than malteese hence her extra curly fluffy coat it gets matted regularly. I like to keep her hair on the fluffy longer side, which adds “weight” to her but in actuality she’s a little lean doggie with a very small neck! I was worried about this collar being bulky and too big for her but it fit (I got the xs pink). For the price and the style itself, it’s perfect! I especially love that this brand uses rose gold hardware not the typical ugly silver hardware that’s seen on most collars and leashes- This brand uses rose gold on their leashes too (I ended up buying a pink retractable one with rose gold clip that matches this collar as well as all her other collars as they are finished with either gold or rose gold hardware.I find this collar both fashionable and comfortable at the same time- I think it will be great for the winter & durable for stormy weather!

I would not recommend this collar to anyone. The description does not make it clear that the design is insane. It looks like a quick release buckle collar. Instead it's essentially a trap for your dog's neck. Sure, the collar is super secure and it's not going anywhere once you strap it in, there are safety reasons quick release collars are made the way they are. There are situations that you may need to quickly release your dog from it's collar and this manufacturer has created a death trap. It was pointless to ship back, so we put it where it belongs, in the trash.

This collar appeared very nice and also well constructed material wise. It arrived well packaged. The problem with the collar is that it was very thick. Much too thick. It may not be such an issue on a large dog, but on my 30lb pup, it looked like she was wearing a large water hose around her neck. The secondary problem with the collar was the adjustment method. The inner material of the collar and the outer material of the collar adjust separately. I have never seen a collar adjust like this. The smaller you make the collar the significantly thicker the collar gets, so then it looks like a double stacked water hose. This collar would be very nice for a larger dog and would also look nicer if your dog fit the collar without needing to reduce it's size. I returned the collar, as it just did not look right in my dog, again much too thick. As usual Amazon and the seller we great and refunded my purchase price.

I should have read the other comments before I bought this collar! I have a 6 1/2 pound toy poodle puppy who was very bothered by the hard web collar she arrived wearing. She scratched and scratched at it! The vet recommended a "satin collar" but I couldn't find anything described as such. So I decided to try this one. She needed a 10" neck span and for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to adjust the fit for anything that small - and even so, there was double thick collar halfway around, also a very heavy brass loop. Luckily I like a challenge and have lots of sewing equipment - so I undid lots of stitching, removed the heavy brass ring and about 5" of collar material. I tailored a perfect soft collar, with about 2" of extra length for when she grows. Now she is very happy, doesn't even seem to know she is wearing a collar. And I love the color - so in the end, a very satisfactory purchase.

The picture is our 15lb chihuahua mix, King TuT. I include the weight, because he's a large small dog. The collar adjustment is pretty much all the way in for his 9" neck, which makes it pretty thick in the part that doubles over itself to make it that small. That being said, the collar looks great and he wears it without seeming to notice the additional thickness. I bought the first one about a year ago, and wear and tear became obvious towards the end of the year, so I just bought another one. I washed it several times, and it holds up pretty well to washing with dish soap and a toothbrush. He likes the collar, I like the collar, so yes, I'd recommend buying it. I'd give it 5 stars for a little larger dog, this one is an X/S, and Tut's neck is near the bottom of the adjustment for size.
