Q: Can you use an oil with this steamer, e.g. Eucalyptus oil?

Although it is written not to add any oils to the water for steaming, I did tentatively experiment by adding drops of eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil and vetiver oil, which worked to great effect. I've now been regularly adding an assortment of oils for the past 8 months now and it works just fine. However, I would advise against only using oil, instead mixing it with water.

Q: Does this heat the water or do i have to add boiled water in it?

Yes ,this device heats the water . However you do not need boiled water . Simply add luke warm water into the compartment and it will be converted into hot steam . Hope this helps !.
