AMAZING COLLECTION OF SONGS RECORDED DURING THE BANDS HEYDAY..
all 23 tracks on this disc sound fantastic and are of soundboard quality, most where recorded for that old t.v show called the saturday club some 54 years back, anyway the hammond keyboards, the power of marriots voice and the musicianship the small faces had way back in the 60s was amazing, i do must admit i like THE WHOS version of the cover of BABY DONT YOU DO IT a bit better then the small faces cover but still these guys where on the same page as THE WHO, THE CREATION, THE ACTION ETC ETC sadly over here in the us the small faces did not crack it like THE WHO did and it was all over for them by 1969 but these tracks bring all that back!!! i love how one JIMMY PAGE stole a good line from the small faces for whole lotta love on the led zeppelin 2 lp with how they end there version of you need lovin ( track 10) but over all THESE GUYS WHERE AWESOME!!!!!, i have read so so many stories about there trip to oz and nz w/ THE WHO back in january 1968 and how both bands got banned from that territory at the time by the then prime ministers but these guys had a lot of power and where perfect MODS next to THE WHO during this era of recordings, the remastering on this disc brings the volume to a very loud level and this comes in a nice digi pack, im glad i sprung for this even though i have a couple of small faces box sets with a lot of rare stuff on them, this is a very powerful live document of there stuff from there best days.... i have always loved there single ALL OR NOTHING and this is yet another great live version of that track. ANY FAN WILL LOVE THIS DISC!!!!

Small Faces - Transmissions
If, like me, you have already spent your hard earned on 'The BBC Sessions' or the box set 'The Decca Years' you will already have most of what is on offer here. All the BBC sessions from those two releases are present including three of the songs from the 1968 session for John Peel's wonderful Top Gear program which are absent from the 'Decca Years' box set. When that session was first aired on Top Gear they also included a very cool instrumental version of the Temptations 'Get Ready'. I was hoping that it might be included on this release as it has yet to make it on to a CD, but no such luck. I still have a recording I made from the radio all those years ago and it really is a good version, done in a Booker T. style. As well as the BBC recordings, the four set session they did for the German TV show 'Beat, Beat, Beat' from 1966 is also included. Fans will be familiar with this excellent live performance as the footage for it survives and was available on the DVD 'Beat, Beat, Beat'. Sadly that DVD has now been deleted but it can be found on Youtube and it is nice to have those tracks on a CD in good sound. The only other rarity here is a performance of Tin Soldier from a 1968 French TV show called 'Bouton Rouge'. This is also on Youtube but unfortunately whoever posted it there decided to replace the original performance with the studio single version. On here we have the original sound recording from the show with Steve Marriott and P.P. Arnold belting out a live vocal over a backing track. Not essential but nice to have all the same.In conclusion, although there is not much here that the avid fan won't have already heard, for someone looking for a collection of their broadcast performances this fits the bill nicely. The sound quality is very good, and the sleeve notes and recording info accurate and perfectly adequate (apart from mistakenly listing original guitarist/organist Jimmy Winston as the bass player).Anyway It simply has to be five stars because, hey, it's the Small Faces and they were brilliant. The live versions they did for the BBC were excellent making this a near perfect companion to their wonderful studio recordings. Nice!

Small Faces BBC Sessions - A Cut Above The Old BBC Sessions
The Small Faces, what can be said of them? I have so many cds by them - deluxe editions, live albums, studio albums and I have written nice reviews concerning their music. Well, anyway, here's another album to add to the collection. The one and only Transmissions 1965-1968 from Audio Vaults. There are some tracks on this disc that do appear on their BBC Sessions cd but this one out bests that disc by at least 8 tracks. All Or Nothing is a slightly different version than that om The BBC Sessions, Hey Girl - a second version, a two tune medley of What'cha Gonna Do about It?/Sha-La-La-La-Lee and here's a biggy- Tin Soldier with P.P. Arnold, If I Were A Carpenter, Lazy Sunday and Every Little Bit Hurts. This is a magnificent disc and the Audio Quality is great. It is a shame that Marriott, Lane and MacLagan are no longer with us. They were a great group and had written a ton of music in their lifetimes. You should own this one, you would love it if you love The Small Faces.

Schlechter Einkauf
Wahnsinnig enttäuscht. Audioqualität laest zu wünschen übrig. Würde gerne wissen, wo diese Aufnahmen herkommen? Nicht zu empfehlen.
