Kenchii Scorpion Grooming Shears Super Set of 3

I've worked at a grooming salon for nearly ten years, and been a professional groomer for the last five, and for that time I've been getting by with some cheap but mostly effective King Star scissors. I ordered these because of how positive the reviews have been from fellow groomers and man am I impressed. They cut beautifully, the action is buttery smooth and they are the perfect weight to length balance. My only gripe was that the scorpion emblem did not seem well adhered to the tension control. I went to adjust the tension on the curved set and the emblem popped off and had to be super glued back on. Cosmetic issues aside, well worth the price. I'm very happy.

I did a lot of comparison before ordering my first set of shear. I'm not a professional grooming and just someone who prefer to trim my 3 dogs (Biewer Terrier, Havanese and Maltese) before the next grooming appointment. I didn't want to spend too much and I also didn't want to get something that is poor quality and I will regret it later. I think I made a great purchase with this product. It's very well made and not over the top expensive. I don't have to grab my scissors from the kitchen or my desk anymore. I love my new shears that are sharp to cut or just to trim my 3 dogs hair. My favorite is the thinning shear.

I am a professional groomer and love my kenchii scorpion shear set. My coworkers stare enviously as the shears do way more than our geibs. My God! They actually cut! I did notice for the thinners, it doesn't bend hair, but will actually snip the hair. These babies are pristine! Look good, feel good, and cut hair like no shears before. I would definitely recommend these! An added plus was they included 3 comfort grips and my goodness do they make a difference. My girlfriends in the salon use shears without finger grips and I don't know how they do it. I've gotten cramps and blisters from doing that. Kudos to kenchii. Not only do they have little finger grips included, but oil too for the shears! Will update this review after a while to make sure the quality remains.

I love this set. They are heavy, very sharp, and cut beautifully. However, the thinning shears started locking up immediately. At first, I thought it was my inexperience, but they continued to lock up, so I showed them to a more knowledgeable person, who pointed out that the blades toe in. There is an adjustment screw, but that didn't help. Very disappointing in such a generally fine (and expensive) set of scissors. I would love to exchange just the shears for a functioning set.

Both shears and thinner work wonderfully. many of my coworker's who have been groomers from years to decades have tried them out and love them. I will gladly purchase more shears from kenchii with confidence. Bonus, they also come with three matching finger rests.
