Simply Awesome!
Well, having gone through alot of trouble trying to get a DSi, I hoped it would be worth it. And it defineately was! The problem I always had with the old versions of the DS was that it was just a games console, nothing else, it jus played games. That's why I spent time trying to find games that were like tools (e.g.the web browser game you could buy). But the DSi has met my expectations. It's cameras may be low res, but do we expect them to be 10 megapixel super cameras? No, they're just for fun, and that's what some people are finding hard to grasp, the DSi is for enjoyment. The DSiware was slow to load most of the time, as was the bowser, but it was very useful for good games like Wario snapped or apps lke Flipnote Studio. A problem I found though was that you couldn't link your WiiWare account with your DSiware account, so you had to buy separate points, but this won't be a problem for people who don't own a Wii. I was dissapointed by the internet, as it didn't use a 3G connection or special Nintendo hotspot connection, but an extra cost would probably be added if this was the case. On the other hand, the wi-fi is easy to use if you are connecting to a free hotspot like McDonalds and your wi-fi at home is also simple to log on to, you can get surfing in a couple of minutes. Overall, this is a brilliant update from the previous DS's, and next up will probaby be a DS with video recording and software for it. But this is perfect for me, being just 11 years old and just wanting to play around with photos and sounds for fun. Well Done Nintendo!

DSi XL is awesome!
I love this thing! My boyfriend wanted to play DS with me, so I got this and gave him my old DS and a gift. If you already have an old GBA and don't care about backwards compatibility, the DSi XL is great. For as big as the screen is, it is really not much bigger overall than the original DS. The original had a 3in screen, the DSi had a 3.25in screen, and this is 4.2in. However, it has the same resolution as the DSi. This almost scared me off, but I'm glad I got it. The large screen means you can hold it further from your face and still read it, which is very comfortable, and the bright and vivid colors totally make up for the low resolution compared to the screen size. Also, the DSi XL screen has a much better viewing angle than even the DSi, which makes it easy to show what you are doing to your friends and to see the screens if you want to play with it set on a table like a laptop. All-in-all, a great system and great purchase.

GREAT DS UNIT!
I was replacing my 7 yr old daughter's old DS unit from a few years ago that broke, and I couldn't decide on which DS unit to purchase for her Christmas gift. There were several options with the 2DS, 3DS, and this DSi XL. I shopped around for several weeks until I came across the 3DS & 2DS on sale at another retail store. I almost purchased one of these units as the prices were incredibly lower than I had seen online or at other retailers. But I decided against it after reading on the back of the packaging that the 3D & 2D units could cause vision damage in children under 7 yrs of age. I have two other children below this age group in the household and didn't want to risk them getting ahold of it and playing a game on it. So I went back on Amazon and ordered this DS with the larger screen. We absolutely love it! My daughter loves the larger size of the screen and my husband plays with it all the time too! Thanks Amazon for carrying this item online as I was unable to find it in any store.

MIDNIGHT BLUE
Well I bought this console like a month ago, and I gotta say I really like it much. Games look awesome on this huge screen, the difference is very clear if you have a ds or ds lite. For someone who use glasses is pretty awesome and it helps a lot to see better. Some cons could it be that some ame pixelate a bit, but the great sound and image make it a great option. At first it was a bit unconfortable because even I don't have small hands playing more than 8 hours make your hands really tired. It contains a slot for SD which is nice, it can read photos, music files (A litte downside there, you need to convert your mostly regular mp3 music files to AAC). Can save flipnote files on the SD card too (flipnote its a free aplication included) and voice files which are recorded on another aplication for the DS (It records the sound pretty good) It also got a camera, around 3 or 5 megapixels... not that bad, but it doesn't have flash, so forget the idea of taking photos in the dark, also it always make noise when taking photos, which can be annoying for some people. Another interesting thing, is the browser (made by Opera), unfortunatetly it doesnt support adobe flash but if you are not a youtuber or visit websites with a lot of use of flash then its no problem I've been playing a few games (rune factory, order of ecclesia, pokemon dungeon, and pokemon pearl), but all just look great. I waited to buy the dsi xl at the begining, since I don't like much the first two colors and this midnight blue (even if is not real midnight blue since midnight blue will be very blackish) is wonderful, with its glossy appearance at the top. I bought a case so it would no get any scratch. I bought one for my bf little brother, and he just loved it. Overall I made the review for my sister because she obligated me. So there are mix opinions here... So yeah, its a good portable system... I recommend it

Operates Well but No Stylus
I am pretty happy with the product over all. But it came without the Nintendo DSi XL Stylus 2 that was shown in the photo and stated in the item description. The slight scratches on the case were to be expected from an older console thats been refurbished. I like the charm they bring it. But I don’t have a stylus for playing Pokemon Ranger now. :(
