POOR QUALITY - LOOSE BRISTLES
I owned the Hana B oval brush for over a decade. This is the only similar brush that comes up in searches. Bought the patent on it and made cheaper? This brush has alot less bristles= fine It has a new ceramic center. However quality of bristles the main part is very poor. The bristles started falling out immediately. The bristles also are not laying straight out. See pictures. My sink was full of them. I didn't even use it yet. Definately would not last as long as my Hana K brush has. I was really looking forward to a new brush , but I guess I have to continue to use my old one as there is no equal replacement on the market. Perhaps it is the temperature they are stored in at Amazon warehouse that is ruining the brushes?

Love this boar brush
***Updated 7/1616 (original 2/2014): I still love this brush. Initially, you may see some bristles fall away but my brush still looks good today. I initially had some issues directing the heat to the center of surface of the bristles instead of the area closest to the handle. This is due to a surgery I'd had on my wrist. This caused the rubber of the handle to suffer a bit of melting over time. It's still in great condition, but the rubber has begun to deteriorate because of the former issue. I'm ordering another one to be my primary brunch but will keep my old one. I may be able to make a new grip for the handle. Overall, this is still a great brush to blow dry my spiral-curly hair. I have tried two or three other boar brushes, but this one is definitely a keeper! I can get my naturally curly mix of 3b/3c/4a hair pretty straight with just this brush and a blow dryer. My hair is left soft and shiny. I think that the fact that it is oval is a great benefit because it allows you a great flat surface to help keep the hair taut while blow drying. I don't normally wear my hair straight, but since having this brush, I've found that I like keeping my hair blown out and will continue to do so.

Sheds alot at first
This brush sheds alot for the first 10 or so uses. After that, it sheds maybe 1 hair per use. This is the only way to straighten very thick wavy hair without making it look early 00s flat and lifeless. It gives your thick hair body but smooths it out and makes it look like someone else's hair (aka like you just came from a salon blowout). My hair looks shiny and healthy now, instead of flattened frizz. I don't even have to use a flat iron at all, and I can even sleep on my hair and it still looks great the next day.

Good for smooth blow outs, seller was good
I decided on this brush went I couldn't find exactly what I was searching for, a 100% boar bristle paddle brush with vents, and ceramic/tourmaline ion stuff. I have some other blowout brushes but I wanted a smooth option that maybe would go faster for a simple hairdo day. It wasn't faster, I still had to go into sections, but they were verticle sections and it was all fine and good. I have a nice smooth blowout today. I have fine hair with a wave that I dry on low heat, low speed. I am still learning how to do my own blowouts and I am a bit shy with the tension pulling at times (hair is damaged from an overbleach at the salon). SO, I still have yet to achieve a blowout that is totally frizz free. I usually have to touch up with a flat iron or just leave it. This brush is going to stay in my collection as the smoother. I used the short sides of the oval to help get at some of my roots. I think it will take some practice to put the oval shape to work for me but I feel I had the general idea on first try and was happy. The seller was SpaSourceOnline, fulfilled by Amazon. They sent exactly what I ordered, the Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion Turbo Vent 100% Boar Hair Brush CITV-BROVL (Oval), shipped promptly, product was new and authentic.

I do like the brush !
I like the weight of this brush and the ease in which I am able to blow dry my hair with it. It seems to take less time than other brushes I had used in the past. Many of my brushes have broken the handles when i have dropped them. This one seems quite solid.

I have long unruly wavy hair and after buying this brush I've finally started regularly blow drying my hair. You definitely need long hair because the brush is ridiculously big. I've paired it with a good hair dryer. I sit on my bed with the dryer between my knees and blow dry. Before I would always try in the bathroom in front of the mirror and get too tired to finish drying my entire hair. Not having an electricity plug in the bathroom for the dryer helped me come up with this method, also the brush makes it really quick, I'm done before my arms get tired.

This brush is very poor quality. The bristles and the body are made of a very cheap plastic. Do not waste your money on this brush.
