Best quality and best user interface ever
I had never heard of Ubiquiti products until a network professional friend told me about them. Based on his advice, I decided to try it. Best quality, best looking, best performing, simplest to use router I've ever seen. I can't say enough good things, starting with unboxing and setting up via the iPhone app. One of my reasons to pick this one was it's expandability via mesh points, but once I installed the base station, my weak signal areas were eliminated. Rock-solid signal throughout the house and into the back yard/patio. The iPhone app makes monitoring and management of the system trivially easy (for example, I don't normally have the guest option on, but I've needed it a couple of times, and it takes about 10 seconds to enable it). Today, I got my first notice that an upgrade was available. I normally have the device in digital clock mode, and when I looked at it this morning, it said "upgrade available" with a button to initiate it. Three minutes later, I had the new firmware running.

Easy to use, affordale, reliable router that actually will work and has mesh/extender options
I am an IT consultant and use these routers for very small satellite and temporary offices for a couple of my clients. I can manage several of them from one cloud login account, which is nice. Adding additional mesh/extender/bridge devices is easy. I also like that they can be used in just about any application (router, access point, bridge, etc). - SET IT AND FORGET IT =) truly, once you configure this it will just work. - good range for such a small device - front display is nice to have easy confirmation of status and error messages - when firmware update is available, it will let you know and you just touch the display to do the update - I wish this did DFS bands in 5GHz, but at the price point that's not expected. - Love that the first thing it asks you for is your custom network name and password - All options are easy to access and tweak through the phone app - small footprint is attractive and if you don't like the screen and lights you can dim or disable those - If you have a big house (>2300 sq ft) you will need one of the mesh points or a second one of these - if you have a LOT of wifi devices and a huge house (4000+ sq ft) then you have enough money to get the Unifi Dream Machine, so I'd just spend the extra on that and use FlexHD or nanoHD for extenders/extra access points. - although, if you have a big house and need to keep it simple, these work fine. Or get the Alien model if you like spending lots of money on the fastest stuff available =)

This is a powerful little cube
I replaced a TP-Link router -- one of the more expensive ones, with the same 802.11ac capabilities. I was having trouble with dead zones at the far end of my house. My plan was to get one of these and then purchase the Mesh Expander in the event the coverage wasn't enough, or possibly even return it didn't perform significantly better. Well, it performs very well. The dead zone is gone. The smart phone software is great, it gives a lot of intuitive control as well as bandwidth monitoring of each device on the network. You can easily and quickly disable individual devices on the network. Great for getting dirty looks from the kids while they're on Tik Tok! Clean your rooms, kids, and I might turn it back on... maybe. And yes, the aesthetics of it are great. A white borg-like cube with a nice-looking LCD that can look like a clock or display geek's-dream statistics like bandwidth throughput or current IP/MAC address. All this, and it's stupid-easy to set up through the smartphone app.

Great machine. Poor customer service. No returns, only repairs through UL
First one did not work properly with the power supply in one position, but OK with it the other way (USB-C) so I decided to contact customer service since it clearly is supposed to work both ways, and I did not want to keep a defective product not knowing what else could be wrong, or if it would break down completely leaving me without WiFi. That experience was appalling, reminiscent of dealing with a German company (You are the problem, not our product). They wanted me to return the device to them at my shipping expense and then let me know what would happen whenever they got time to look at it. That is just totally unacceptable in my book when someone wants to return a product. Apparently they only have a warranty process, oblivious to the fact someone might actually want to return it for their money back. So my advice is DO NOT ENGAGE THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT for returns but return it to the retailer. Luckily amazon has a super easy return system and I recommend buying it here or at a local retailer where you know you can return. Alright enough ranting, the working product is great, it works and is easy to configure. Some people complain about the WiFi connected devices not being able to download at full speed. I attribute this to the QoS algorithms and seems fine to me if I designate the test device a streaming device and speedtest several times. One thing I could not get to work was the accompanying Teleport app. It will not connect via T-Mobile for some reason. Hence minus 1 star since that was one reason I chose this product to begin with.

I purchased this router and a mesh point to replace my failing D-Link. My modem is located in my upstairs office, but that room gets unbearably hot in the summer. Therefore, I needed something to extend my wifi signal all the way from my second floor to my basement. There were several mesh wifi systems to choose from, but most of them required me to sign up for an account and install an app to control them over the "cloud". I am pleased that's (mostly) not the case with the Ubiquiti Amplifi HD. Although an app is offered, I was able to set up the main router and pair the mesh point without installing anything. However, the app is still needed to access the advanced configuration options, forcing me to get a cheap Android device just for this purpose (which is why I gave it only 4 stars for ease of installation). But once it's up and running, the Amplifi has worked flawlessly so far. Now I can get a strong connection from anywhere in the house, and "dead zones" are a thing of the past. Build quality: 5/5 Ease of installation: 4/5 Ease of use: 5/5 Performance: 5/5 Reliability: 5/5 Signal range: 5/5 Value for money: 5/5

Wow! Finally I've found the best router on the market. Everyone knows dlink, tplink, linksys,... They are all old school and have not improved for many year. I just bought this item: AmpliFi HD Wifi Router by Ubiquiti Labs, Seamless Whole Home Wireless Internet Coverage, HD Wifi Router with Touchscreen Display, 4 Gigabit Ethernet, 1 WAN Port, Ethernet Cable, Expandable Mesh System. This item with the AmpliFi app is the best of the best in the world! It took me about 5 minutes to setup everything: firmware update, everything configured and all my 21 existing devices were all connected flawless. The Amplifi App is a premier in the world that provide realtime download and upload speed for each single device. You can see in realtime which device is overloading your network and how much bandwidth you're using. Congratulations to all Ubiquity's team!

Easy to install and runs like a charm. We bought this unit because having two people working from home using lots of bandwidth, we found spotty connections and zoom meetings were cracking. A tech friend of mine recommended AMPLIFi and said that it’s used on large scale tech companies. So I trusted him and the product immediately. The installation process was super simple! And it works like a charm since! Love it and highly recommend it. Keep in mind we have a 600 square foot condo, so reach is not one of our necessities.
