Remington Solar Solar Gable Fan with Thermostat/Humidistat (23 x 23 x 6 IN) - Brushless Motor - Residential

got this to replace an ancient attic fan. Product was easy to install and the solar panel cable is long enough for our house to avoid the shaded areas on the roof. solar panel is smaller then expected but in full sun, it goes all day long. The fan is a little noisy (humming sound) when on, so if you have neighbors who are sensitive, you might want to talk to them about it. Since we are not in the room where the gable is nearest during the day, it’s not an issue for us.is it strong enough? Well, I suspect, if you have a prescribe, rectangular attic, sure. our attic has some right corners, with not the most thought out right spots with poor airflow, I’d say the fan is certainly helping but we either need a second one on the other side of the house or a stronger one despite that in theory, the fan should be more then enough for our size attic. But we are not regretting the purchase.

Fan works good ! (Love the electric back up option )Solar panel must be in complete sun in order to work. If one solar square is shaded, the fan will now work. That is in the design , not a flaw. Love the built in Humidistat. I painted mine a “rubbed oil bronze” to blend with my greenhouse .

I've had this for about a year now and the fan works great. The thermostat only kicks the fan on when the attic gets to certain temp. I can hear it running, but it doesn't bother me.

The power!

So glad we waited to purchase this until they started using a brushless motor! It has been absolutely awesome! I cannot believe how much cooler our home is with this fan installed.On days when the outside air has been in the 90s-100s… the house has stayed in the mid to low 70s. We have not had to run our portable AC since we put this fan in! It’s made a huge difference!The only minor downside is that the panel really needs full sun for the fan to operate. Easy fix if you can install the power inverter - but we have not done that yet. But even with the fan only running for part the afternoon - I am thrilled with the impact!For those concerned with noise - we hardly notice it. I hear a very slight humming sound when in the bedroom located just below the fan… not at all bothersome. Makes me happy, actually - knowing that it’s going!No regrets at all with this purchase!

Not as powerful as I was hoping. But fast shipping and easy install.

I was surprised to find the little blue module attached directly to the fan motor is broken. Metal parts are visibly and audibly rattling around inside the blue module before it was ever powered on. I put it directly back in the box and I'm ordering another brand asap.

I bought this solar fan to cool down a 22’x25’ green house. The fan doesn’t seem to be very efficient. It runs all day long as long as it is in the direct sunlight, but it doesn’t seem to move much CFM. It was easy to instal but it didn’t cool down the greenhouse. Only 1 degree at best. The outside temperature averages around the mid seventies, while the temperature in the greenhouse will reach well over 100.
