Great for a level 3, just hard enough my 8 year old neice struggled with it for a while, but then it clicked and she figured it out. Took her about 30 minutes to get it figured out to the point she could almost do it one handed. Fun little fidget toy now :)

I have over 20 of the Hanayama puzzles, this one is really high quality, once you figure it out it still takes time to take it apart again, makes a great fidget toy also.

Very sturdy construction…tricky, but easy puzzle. something for a sharp second grader or third grader to fifth graders. I’m 57 and I really liked it.

It’s made out of a good material and will hold up over time. It should be rated a 1 on a hardness scale instead of 3. I personally solved in it 20 seconds and I had family members solve it in less than two minutes. They have never done these types of puzzles before. If you’re looking for a harder puzzle I would recommend the Hanayama Cast Metal star fish puzzle. It’s rated lower in difficulty but it’s MUCH harder to solve took me a few days and my family over a week.

We get these for our kids every year as a stocking stuffer- they are challenging, well made, and always entertaining. For $10 they keep the kids busy and engaged for anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. I like figuring them out too.

I’m not the best at puzzles but I still enjoy them and this one took me a little while to figure it out, but it’s was all good fun for me. These puzzles are super cool and fun to play with as your try to figure it out and even when you got it down. It’s really fun and invigorating and even relaxing to figure out these unique puzzles. Purchased two of these to give as gifts this holiday season. I gave one to my 29 year-old brother; and the other to a 12 year-old. Both recipients were excited and thrilled upon opening. Both recipients solved the puzzle within 10 minutes! I was surprised and will definitely be investing in a higher level of difficulty the next time around. The puzzles are weighted nicely and well made, great quality with character. The 12 year-old kept raving about the aesthetic, saying how it looked like something from Harry Potter(big bonus points there, haha). It’s a great little metal puzzle that, while easier to solve, makes a super gift.

The appearance of this puzzle isn't like most of the others by Hanayama. This is a dull golden color with an ancient antique look. Like an artifact you might find near a pyramid. The solution isn't too difficult to understand how it might work, as the pieces don't move apart very much. Still, it takes some careful positioning to achieve the final solution. Even knowing it doesn't help solve it much faster each time. Great addition to any collection.
