No, there is no service to dispose of an old fridge. Old fridges should be disposed on in line with council regulations for the disposal of large appliances.

Is it designed to work in unheated areas?

This is my understanding and if I am wrong I apologise. It depends on the temperature. If your unheated area is below 5° you don't need a fridge . If it is above that it should work fine. Freezers have a minimum ambient temperature but I don't think it applies to fridges.

Is the black version without a freezer compartment as i don't want one? there are no pictures of the inside on the black model internally.

Mine is the white model and does not have freeze department no idea about black model
