Let’s get the “bad” out of the way first. The “edging” on each side of the handles quickly began to split and peel at the middle of each strap (roughly where it goes across the top of your shoulder). I tried to trim the loose ends to slow down the peeling, and I even tried rewatching it with a strong adhesive made for shoes — but to no avail. This does not affect the functionality, of course, but it definitely detracts from the appearance.Aside from that, it has been a wonderful bag. I like that the center zip compartment keeps my laptop separate and secure. The other two sides have accommodated multiple file folders, a lesson planner, an attendance book, a clipboard, a bag of pens and highlighters, and a travel coffee mug and/or water bottle. The small slip and zip pockets hold all manner of miscellaneous items: paper clips, binder clips, protein bars, my phone, a small wallet, a pair of fingerless gloves (my classroom gets quite cold sometimes), sunglasses and/or eyeglasses case….many possibilities.I confess I do occasionally have to carry a second bag (often a reusable grocery bag) to corral my lunch, an extra sweater (see earlier comment about the temps in the building), and occasional extra books (novels, resources, or textbooks) when planning new lessons, especially on days I am walking instead of driving, to keep my hands free. But in my department (high school English teacher), we joke that none of us manages to come and go with less than two bags per day because of the grading load — so you might be just fine with the one bag, unless you, too, are tasked with endless planning and grading and essays. (Oh, the essays…)

I get lots of compliments on this bag. It's got plenty of room for my laptop and other essentials. It's held up nicely and looks sleek. I have bought many bags and tend to use this one the most.

Really, really happy with this purchase.Most importantly, this bag is protective. I placed this bag, containing my laptop, smart watch and cell phone, on a hook on the wall in a changing room. At some point, the bag fell 5 or 6 feet onto a hardwood floor with a loud crash that was heard throughout my yoga studio. I panicked when I realized it was my bag that had caused the noise, and immediately checked for damage. I was shocked to find that no damage to any of my devices was inflicted in the fall.The color is as pictured. The material is higher quality compared to similar bags in this price range. It does not look cheap. The bag is stylish and the straps are long enough to wear over my shoulder without even adjusting them all the way. It is sturdy and doesn't flop over when placed upright on the floor.If you're thinking about buying this bag, do it. Do it now.

I've been toting my laptop bag and work papers for 15+ years in a Vera Bradley tote. It has served me well but the handles are fraying and I wanted something that looked a little more business classy. Purchased this on sale and overall I think it will serve me well. My only complaint is that a legal-size folder doesn't fit in it very well. I've also had to slim down how much I cart back and forth, which isn't a bad thing as I drag a lot of things around "just in case" I need them, and my shoulders feel the weight of that extra baggage on a daily basis. The case is sturdy with enough slots and interior pockets to keep separation. I really love the green color I selected and the embossed pattern is pretty with not overwhelming the bag. Hopefully it holds up, but for what I spent, if it lasts 2-3 years, I will be happy and would purchase it again.
