Plenty of Crunchy Goodness for the Birds!
5 lbs of Frolic Wings mealworms is a lot! I know my chickens like them, so I opted to buy these on Amazon, rather than a smaller, more expensive bag, locally. These are high quality, full size mealworms, dry and crispy in a resealable bag. The bag was double boxed, so the worms didn't get crunched. The bonus is, our resident peacock also loves them!! I am happy to find a high protein treat for him that is healthy and delicious. He likes them well enough to take the from my hand. Winning!

Chickens & Wild Birds LOVE THESE!
Non-GMO meal worms are a must-have source of protein for my almost exclusively free-ranged flock! It is molting season here and my hens especially need that protein boost since most of them are continuing to lay. The chickens gobble these up as fast as they possibly can! I love that they are good quality, long in size and arrive unbroken. As a breeder, I begin giving chicks a few crumbled meal worms at 2 days old to start hand training them to come to a human voice, since my chicks are destined for backyard family flocks. The little protein boost helps my hatchlings begin to grow towards the large heritage size I’m breeding for. Crumbled meal worms, chick grit, a half teaspoon of unsulphered molasses in their drinking water and a plug of untreated fresh grass with native soil still attached to the roots the day after hatching is my secret to strong, vigorous, healthy chicks who tend to begin laying around 20 to 21 weeks irregardless of breed.Feeding meal worms throughout the winter when the local bug population has diminished is vital. Chickens given this protein boost during the winter will greet early spring with gorgeous, glossy feathers and begin vigorously laying protein-rich eggs the moment the day begins to lengthen. If you want to have your chickens ingest diatomaceous earth, simply toss these mealworms with a couple Tablespoons of DE to coat them and serve. They store perfectly fine coated in DE. It benefits your hens and their eggs will be clean when they are laid!Get these meal worms! Your chickens and the wild birds will LOVE THEM!!!

Great Value
Great product, well packaged with the resealable bag, and are whole meal worms. Our chickens love them. We originally purchased for an occasional treat, but are now going through quite a bit, every time someone comes over the enjoy seeing all the hens come to them and eat out of their hands. Now they’re trained so well, as soon as we pull down the drive all the hens run to the door! Great price.

Guinea-approved mealworms
I ordered 11 lbs of meal worms and have been happy from the moment I received them.First of all, they came in a nice box, not too large for the bag inside, so it was easy to carry into the house. The bag of mealworms inside the box didn't slip around, and the box maintained its integrity and didn't collapse or crush. Second of all, the bag of mealworms was not puffy and about to explode. It had a nice little bit of vacuum in it, so when I cut it open I could see it was really fresh. I was concerned about ordering so many mealworms all at once, because I wasn't sure they would stay fresh. Maybe they would stink? But they are fresh and dry, have stayed fresh and dry even though opened for over a month now, and have a toasty smell They are all I could possibly have wished for! I am so happy to have plenty on hand for a while as winter sets in. I feed them to my Guineas, and they also heartily approve.

Every worm is a worm, not dust! Hooray.
My old timer hens knew what these worms were right away when I hovered hovered them with a handful (It had been a couple of years). They fight for them. My newbie chicks caught on quickly. I love them too, [sort of :-b], because the entire 5 pound clear plastic bag of them was worms, and no degraded, crushed dust in the bottom. The production date on the bag was for July, and I got these November 1, four months later, which is like, brand new for freeze dried products. They smelled fresh, and not rancid, like previous orders I'd had from other companies. Knowing I would want an ample supply on hand, I went for the 5 lb. bag for economy, and I'm not sorry. BTW, this bag almost completely fills a five gallon food storage bucket--so, sealed up, they should last a while.

Tasty treat
what can I say about mealworms that hasn’t already been said? It was kind of gross when I first opened the bag and air entered the bag. It looked like the mealworms were alive-but no, they are dried. Now I can reach into the bag with my bare hands and get a nice treat for ‘my girls’. I didn’t taste them, but the girls tell me they taste great!

Big enough for dedicated bird feeders
This is a great big bag for serious bird feeders. Chickadees, bluebirds, Cardinals, titmice, nuthatches and the small woodpeckers love them. They work for stranded robins or other bug eaters like warblers caught in snow or ice storms while migrating. Love these things.
