Culture it. That is to say, you can make a yogurt with this as your starter. I have been doing it successfully for a few months. And using inulin in your milk substrate, your counts may likely approach 500 billion if the thinckness of this yogurt is any indication, although i've not tested the CFUs. If you search for dr william davis yogurt the 1st result should be for making l reuteri yogurt, only thing i do different is i pasteurize my milk to 165 (in microwave so no scorching) and in doing this i have not had to re-inoculate the batches every 5th batch, pull off starter at 12 hours and save in fridge for next batch.

Second purchase was a waste

This is a hit or miss. My first purchase created great yoghurt. This was my second purchase and it was completely dead. Won't be buying again. Way more expensive in India too than in the US which is OK if the culture is live but I just can't risk buying it anymore to get nothing in return.
