Operator Error?
Reading some of the other reviews, I think some people are installing these incorrectly. The symptoms they describe sound like the first set I bought, which was for my girlfriend's 2008 Nissan Rogue. When I installed the driver's side wiper (the longer of the two) it didn't make good contact with the windshield and would have left huge streaks. There is a way to adjust how the wiper sits by fiddling with the mount. Once I did that (per the included instructions), it worked like a champ. I just put a pair on my 2010 Xterra, and didn't have to do anything special...they worked great from the start. It sometimes pays to read the instructions. As far as the blades scratching the windshield, the only thing I can think of that would cause that to happen is if they forgot to take the plastic cover off the blade. I can't see how someone might do that, but the blade itself is pretty flexible, so I have no idea how it could scratch auto glass. For me, these have been great, and the price on Amazon is very reasonable. I think I saved about $6 per blade by not getting them at the local auto parts store. I think this should be one of the items that Amazon lets you "Subscribe" to, so you could have them delivered every six months or so. That would certainly help me to remember to change my wiper blades!UPDATE: Been using these now for a couple of years and still love them. The Bosch version are also very good so I tend to buy whichever brand happens to be cheaper at the time.

Rain-X 5079278 (5070646) The model # in parentheses is an older model # which is incompatible with I&L/PTB attachment systems.
**This review has been updated below**This is an informational review rather than a review of the performance of the product (as I can only use one of the blades I've received so far.) If you have an I&L Arm (Pinch Tab) or PTB Arm (Pinch Tab Button) connector system, then please be alerted by this review!I contacted Rain-X rather than Amazon.com since I realized there were probably two different part numbers involved here from what was displayed on the product page; I was worried a return and repurchase through Amazon would simply net me the same exact incompatible part.Instead, I alerted the technical support employee on the phone about the two part numbers listed above, and they confirmed that the 5070646 is an older part number which does not contain the I&L/PTB adapter. The packaging pictured on the Amazon product page appears to be the newer packaging which SHOWS THE I&L Arm/PTB Arm ADAPTER PICTURED ON THE PRODUCT PAGE! I'm basing the idea of it being the newer packaging on the fact that my 24" blade, which I ordered at the same time, has the same type of insert/blurb that is pictured on the product page (and the 24" blade contained the pictured/required adapter.) You can find the part number on the actual product right above the UPC symbol and underneath the size designation (21" in this case) on the back of the product packaging. I also couldn't help but notice that there was a 2006 copyright on the product that didn't include the adapter, while there was a 2008 copyright on the product (the 24" for the driver's side)I received that did include the adapter. The employee on the phone said they couldn't do anything about the Amazon.com product page or which product they were sending it out. That seemed a bit odd to me. I was alerting them so that they wouldn't need to mail out future adapters to customers like myself. Perhaps, it was just the technical support employee that couldn't do anything about it, or perhaps it's truly only an Amazon.com problem. I figured the company whose name is on the product page might be concerned; of course, they might also want to sell through the old packaged product. Who knows?Having said all of that, Rain-X (ITW Global Brands actually) technical support didn't give me any problems about sending me out the required adapter. Of course, the 1-800 number listed on the product packaging was disconnected. 855-888-1990 (Toll free) [email protected] is the information on their website if you do need to get the adapter from them. I can't promise you that even those will remain valid! We'll see how long it takes for me to get it. All of this probably defeated the purpose of ordering it through Amazon.com with one-day shipping though. Thankfully, only one of my old blades was in really poor condition. Annoyingly, I replaced the driver's side first, so I'll have to swap them out and put the old driver's side blade back on.I apologize for the extra/superfluous commentary and my overuse of slashes and parentheses. I hope the main information helps. I'll try to get myself to update this review to include the longterm performance of the blades as well as a mention about how swiftly I received the required adapter.**UPDATE 02/18/13**From the looks of it, the old connector on the 5070646 blades simply doesn't seem to be removable without great force. Also, the adapter they send you has no similar attaching point for the older model. I was concerned this would be the case, but was hopeful to be receiving a different adapter. Be wary of ordering this part and receiving the old model which will not be usable on cars witch I&L/PTB attachment systems.

Quality Blade - When you have the pieces
I bought this blade as a replacement for my passenger side blade on my 2011 Chevy Equinox, along with the passenger side one. It took me a few minutes to figure out how exactly it was supposed to fit on, mostly because the adapter doesn't look like the OEM one, however it is still a perfect, secure fit, so don't let the change in appearance fool you. The system they have engineered is great; it is very easy to swap out to another adapter like I needed to. Once I had figured out what adapter I was supposed to use and how it secures onto the wiper bar, it was literally seconds to attach. I have no doubt that the next time I pick one of these up, it will take less than a minute to do the replacement, now that I know how to do it.The biggest problem I have with this blade is that while Amazon advertises it as fitting my vehicle, and while the instructions that come with it clearly expect that it comes with a PTB adapter, the 17" package did not seem to have one in it! I've also heard of reports of this with other vendors as well, so it seems like it's a bit of a systemic problem. Fortunately, I already had another 24" Rain-X replacement blade that I wasn't using, so I just grabbed the adapter from that one instead. Because all of their Latitude blades use the same adapter system, I could take the 24" adapter and apply it to my 17" blade without a problem. Once I had that, I was good to go. However, if this is your first Rain-X Latitude blade, be aware that you might run into this problem. I suspect Amazon would try to correct it for you, because their customer service is great, but it would certainly be an unexpected delay. As for the wiper quality itself, it seems great. Paired with the Rain-X 2-in-1 Glass Cleaner and Rain Repellant I use, I've already driven it through some pretty strong storms and the view remains very clear. These blades definitely outperform the OEM ones that came with my car, and those blades were already great. Bottom line? Once you've got the adapters you need, this is clearly my #1 recommendation for a quality wiper blade.

dissapointed
In cold weather one wiper worked in one direction of sweep then did not "flip" over and change direction for the opposite sweep. This caused a chattering and rappid skipping. The other wiper simply did not make complete contact with windshield. These might work in a warm weather climate.
