AmerileatherLadies' Leather Mini Backpack - Brown (#1820-2)

Two years ago, I purchased this bag in black for virtually the same price. Although one of the shoulder straps just officially broke, the bag lasted through daily use for 2 full years. The leather quality of the bag itself was fine, but the pockets and straps were made of lesser quality leather, perhaps scraps had been used to construct the straps and the front pocket. As the bag wore over time, the "black" rubbed off the straps (which apparently were originally cream colored) and also from the front pocket, where the leather had once been red. The loop that is connected to the left strap and then stitched into the bottom bag bottom actually stretched out before it snapped, which led me to believe that the leather was "recycled," but the general construction of the backpack/bag itself is sound. Also, the size is just right for carrying a day's needs (reading matter, lunch, gloves, a scarf) to and from work via public transportation in the city. I think this bag is worth the price, so I'm giving the company another chance and purchased another one in brown. In my opinion, if something that costs $39.99 lasts for 2 years with daily use, it is a good purchase. My only hope is that the new one is made from totally new materials.

I use this backpack as my purse. It is very lightweight but you can store a bunch of stuff in there. It is very well made. I usually put the straps over one shoulder when I carry it a short distance but it is so great to have the option to use it as a backpack when your hands are full or you are walking a distance. It is small enough that I can take it to places that check bags and say no backpacks (the theater, basketball games, some stores). I had a black one that lasted around 3 years (until the clasp broke) and now I have the brown one. I don't think I will ever go back to a regular purse!

I bought this product 6 months ago and it has been used heavily, almost every single day. I use it when I am biking around so it is exposed to the elements, even during the winter. It is still in great condition! None of the leather has dulled or rubbed off or anything, and the straps are still working great and haven't snapped or even seem very worn at all. It is smaller than I expected, and it could be improved with a few more pockets on the inside. The easy-access zipper on the back is very useful for getting small items out of it that I don't feel like undoing the entire bag to get. The outside pockets are great for storing items such as cell phones, iPods, and chap stick. This is a great bag and I definitely got my moneys worth.My one problem is that the magnetic part seems to be wearing out already, but the tie around the top prevents that from being a problem.

It is a bit bigger than I wanted (I was looking for a mini backpack purse and this was the best option) but it is cute and good quality. Pretty much just as described. My only complaint is if you have anything heavy in the bag it hangs forward (or backwards?) Away from the body and also the adjustable straps are sooooo long it leaves a big awkward strap hanging loose on the ends. But i am a small person so i have to adjust the straps small. Overall I like it a lot

Genuine leather! The zipper in the back is great for finding stuff on the bottom of the purse. There is plenty of room for coin purse, billfold, keys, miscellaneous other items, and room to spare, without being too bulky. Pockets in the front are great for carrying my cell phone. My wife carries it mainly as a backpack purse because it's better suited for that, though it could be carried by the small handle at the top. The top flap has a snap which makes it very easy to get into the purse - very convenient! Feels and looks durable. Lining appears to be nylon, and sturdy, too. Love the leather smell.

I have been looking for a leather backpack purse for months, and was happy to find this one. It arrived carefully packaged and in excellent condition. This is a quality product, but not to be confused with a full backpack. It is not suitable for carrying school books in, but great as a purse. The only drawback is it's a little cumbersome to open. You have to undo the snap, then pull open the drawstring to get inside. (I guess this would also make it difficult for a pick pocket to reach in and grab something from your purse while it was on your back, so it's a trade-off). Also, great price for the quality!

Very good quality, but the leather seemed to be a little bit sensitive to scratches at first because it's very soft leather. I treated it with a good leather conditioner and it seemed to make it much stronger. I use this bag for personal day use. I love it.

The bag is small but it fits standard size spiral notebooks easily and that's all I usually carry around for school. Much cuter than a school bag. I got the brown color and it is much lighter than the one pictured. Also the bag seems to be made of two different leathers. The bottom and back of the bag have much higher quality leather. The front of the bag has very thin and shiny leather which makes the bag look really cheap.
