Detailed and practical

To be fair, I have read only the sample chapters.15 pages (kindle) of contributors. 17 pages of historical licenses. I would not mind the latter, but it doesn't say anything substantial about them. For example "Howdy Doody", from the 1950s is listed. But it doesn't say anything useful, like "how much revenue did this generate", "is this still generating revenue". It's just filler. And it goes on and on and on andThe first chapter is just definitions. Useful, and clear. A little odd to just start with definitions, not background or motivation. Definitions were clear and looked useful.It seems many of the citation are from 2017. Many legal books feel it necessary to update annually (like Nolo Press). 6 years seems long, given the changes in the world in that time.Not sure if I am going to buy. The sample should be the best of the book and this sample was half filler.Edit: bought it anyway. Will report when done.Only a little further, but more padding.

Even though I already have more than two decades of experience in the licensing industry, I have found this book to be an essential resource. It's a great reference and even gets into the reasons behind how licensing deals can be structured. I highly recommend it.

I've been in the business a long time but found this book to be extremely thorough and chock full of good information and reminders in this very intricate business of licensing! Don't hesitate, a great book!

The print on this book looks like it was made on and old printing machine. It is faded, and you have to sit near a very bright light or window to read it. May have been a bad copy. I would have returned, but somehow missed the deadline.
