Inside Kimi!
Kimi is one of the most popular and naturally gifted drivers of all time. He is also infamous for being a man of very few words. However, this book he opens up and we learn so much more about Kimi the man and the driver. It's a fantastic book for all Kimi Fans and Formula 1 fans. Discover Kimi like never before. I wouldn't say it's the best but it's still a worthwhile read if you love learning about all the drivers and sport like me.

Great book! Good read.
Kimi is a one of a kind character. He never serves up a dull moment and neither does the book. Any fan of F1 or Kimi is going to love learning all the details of his life and his move up in racing and the F1 series. I feel you don't have to be a fan to enjoy the book though, it is well written and keeps you engaged. Well worth the money. It would also make a great gift.

The Unknown will always be Unknown
I never really noticed Kimi until these last few years since he's been with Ferrari. I've grown to really like - no love his demeanor. Earlier this year I looked for a biography on him, but to no surprise, I couldn't find one. I couldn't picture him wanting to talk about his life, let alone think people would want to know about it. But literally a few months later, one actually came out. I wanted to know what this "militant" person was like behind the scenes and what made him tick. Why is it that every racer talks amongst each other in the cool down room, but Kimi sits in a chair and keeps to himself? While other drivers (or should I say driver) is constantly working on PR to the point where I want to puke, Kimi doesn't sugar coat anything and yet he is loved for it. I was surprised after reading the book how outgoing he is outside the races. But everything else I read didn't come to a surprise. Kimi comes off as a real person and that's what I got out of his book. I wish we could all say what we want to say without people getting butt hurt about it. But even after reading that book, I know there are only a few people in his life that will ever really know him. Thanks for writing a book on Kimi. I know he doesn't think he's anything special, but his "realness" is inspiring. I will miss Kimi's presence a great deal after he retires from F1. Kimi for president?

More to Kimi than I thought
Kimi Raikkonen was an enigma to me, in part because it is his reputation. He briefly competed in a couple NASCAR-sanctioned races while I was on that beat. I could make neither heads nor tails of him. I found this bio by Kari Hotakainen highly edifying. At first, I thought Hotakainen's account was overly simplistic. I dismissed as the work of a novelist taking a dip into biography.I was wrong. He penetrated the Raikkonen reserve. Some of Raikkonen's comments to the media reminded me of the old story of U.S. President Calvin Coolidge, who was approached by a woman who told him she had bet she could get "Silent Cal" to say three words. "You lose," Coolidge is reputed to have said.It turns out Raikkonen is a bit more interesting behind the scenes. He grew up in relatively poverty. His story is similar to the NASCAR legends who rose from working class roots before the sport was taken over by the children of affluence. Raikkonen was quite the bohemian before he settled down after his second marriage."F1 without the press would be a paradise," he once said. His privacy was not without its functionality in an F1 environment of big money and corporate repression. He learned to live his life without intrusion. When asked at Hockenheim what the tires (tyres in the F1 spelling) felt like, Raikkonen said, "They go round as you'd expect."This bio taught me that Raikkonen did not go 'round and 'round as I expected.

It a OK read.
If you know Kimi he's quiet and stays to himself. This book has interesting stories about Kimi of course. You get stories from his mother, brother, and friends. Starting in Finland to his military service, to working his way to F1. The book is structured in a way where you get into an interesting story and it stops...then your on to the next chapter. Or you read a story where you think this has layers and the story stops. An example - We get a story about Kimi meeting his wife. You get to learn more about his wife, who she was before Kimi. They were both single and started dating. Then before the end of the chapter in 2 sentences you read Kimi was married for 10 years later divorced. An that sparks more questions but your off to the next chapter.I like Kimi as a racer and I like this book. I would have went to the library or brought it second hand.

"Leave me alone - I know what I'm doing!"
Kimi Raikkonen is an incredible F1 driver, well known for his outspoken, monosyllabic responses. He dfinitely lives up to his reputation as the Iceman. (He also lives upto his rep as the "Flying Finn"!) His life story is well worth reading. Knowing a bit about the drivers we are rooting for is a definite benefit. This is a very well written book, complete with pics documenting his life. While this is not in the book, I want to take this moment to wish Kimi much success with his upcoming stint with Sauber!
