Q: do you offer a rectangular pan that's as wide is the back as it is in the front for see thru fireplaces?

The tray offered is angled on the sides to either be wider in the front or in the back. No way to make it a square. But I painted mine with 1200 degree spray paint (black) and it's perfect for me

Q: what material and thickness is this made out of? my last ash pan slowly melted away.

It is made of a semi thick sheet metal. I’ve burn several fires since I purchased it and it has not yet melted. Cleaning the fire place is a lot easier now too.

Q: Will this pan work without using grill?

Thank you for your question. Please do NOT use this ash pan without a grate/grill. Not only burning need enough oxygen, doing like this also cause the deformation of the pan.

Q: Since this pan is made from galvanized steel (zinc coated), would this be an inhalation hazard using this in an enclosed space when heated?

Well, I am not an expert so in my opinion, you must have ventilation to the outside for wood & coals so it shouldn't be an issue. We've used ours multiple times & didnt have a problem ever. This question is more suited to be answered by the seller.
