I love the Bark2Basics product line! I’m a professional dog groomer and have used this in other salons I’ve worked at. I purchased this for my own dogs at home because it does a great job. It dilutes easily and a gallon lasts through several baths (I own giant breeds so I use a generous amount of product). It has a pleasant floral scent and leaves the hair very soft. I’ve never had a problem with it irritating a dog’s skin, but if your pet is sensitive to fragrance you may want to stick with a hypoallergenic formula from this line. Their hypo products are also amazing. For the budget minded owner or salon owner, this product is a great value for the price. I recommend this line to my fellow dog groomers constantly.

I don’t typically write reviews, but hopefully other dog owners will appreciate this!Main points:-Highly recommend for dogs with skin problems/allergies/dryness-Very subtle scent-Actually does moisturize and soothe (my own skin was very soft and moisturized after washing my dog)-Used in conjunction with Bobbi Panter Natural Soothing Dog Shampoo (highly recommended for same reasons)I have an Alaskan Malamute (thick double coat, like a husky) with skin allergies/sensitivity/intense dryness. She needs to be put on medication during peak allergy seasons or else her skin flares, her fur falls out, and puss filled blisters form on her skin…so obviously I am very careful about what products to use on her. She also hates strongly perfumed products, and will go rub herself in dirt/grass to get rid of the smell. I was hesitant at first to purchase this due to the description saying it has a “fresh & clean fragrance”, but the scent is actually extremely soft and subtle and has not been bothersome to my dog at all. I did not dilute the conditioner, and it did an amazing job moisturizing my dogs fur and skin (the conditioner literally absorbed into her dry coat). I am very pleased with the product. While washing her, my own skin felt very soft, moisturized, and smooth, so I took this as a great sign! I highly recommend using the above mentioned shampoo that I went with (I wrote a similar review with some specific edits for the shampoo), which also really cleansed her coat while still being very gentle and moisturizing. Her coat has never looked or felt better!!

Does not smell great & does not condition well

This conditioner smells so good. Leaves my dogs hair super soft and smelling good for several days or up to two weeks post shower granted he hasn’t rolled in something dead by the second week. I usually wipe my dog down with some wipes after he starts to smell funky and then I mix some conditioner in with water and give him a little spray and he smells great again until bath time! I leave the conditioner on him for about five to ten mins during bath time and I noticed this really helps soften his hair and easier to brush him and remove all the excess loose hairs I couldn’t get before. A little foes such a long way. I will buy this forever for my baby.

Does its job, kind of a weird smell to it but not the worst. It works great for lots of skin types, and it’s lightweight so you don’t feel like you’re weighing the hair down. Worth it for the price, and it does a decent job at detangling but you have to use kind of a lot of they’re really thick.

Great conditioner to use for pet.

Been a professional groomer for 17 years. Thought i'd try something different because my regular products were out of stock. Thank goodness I only purchased one bottle! This stuff not only smells disgusting, but it leaves an awful film on the dogs coat. I have re-washed the job that I used to the conditioner on twice and still cannot get rid of the smell of this product. Needless to say, I won't even be using this on my own pets.
