Interesting story line with many surprises.
I bought this book out of curiosity and also to support an LEO brother. Upon receiving the book, I was very impressed with its cover design and dimension. The artwork on the cover was in great details and pleasing to look at. The book's dimension was also larger than the popular size of a typical novel, which allowed its text to be written in larger fonts. Therefore, making it easy on the eyes when reading.I don't want to spoil others with details or storylines. All I want to say is that I've read some action-adventure novels in the past but this one intrigued me the most. The idea seems original and the characters are relatable to everyday people. You might see yourself or someone you know in some of the characters in this novel. The story development contains many twists, surprises, and humorous situations. So far, this is the only novel that kept me up way past my bedtime. I'm waiting for the rest of the series to come out.Overall, I'm giving this book a 5 stars rating and recommending it to every action-adventure novel fan.

A new series with great potential
I admit. I was hesitant at first. New author, new series. I have already stumbled across many bland and poorly written novels lately. Especially in fantasy. Well, let me say that I'm really impressed with the writing style and story development.I usually don't like to give 5-star reviews for books, but this book kept me coming back for more. I wanted to know what was going to happen next, where they were going. When I wasn't reading the book, I was thinking about it.The story is about Kairos, a young Einar boy who sets out across the sea with his clan to find a new haven because their land is dying. An unexpected encounter at sea leaves everyone dead except Kairos, who must journey onward alone. It is a coming of age story and a quest of rescue and revenge. Now there were several things I really loved about this book. First, the characters. Kairos is young and hot-tempered, often resulting in trouble for him. It's what happens to Kairos that makes him easily relatable. He learns, he struggles with what happens around him, he thinks about it, suffers through it, and it changes him in ways both good and bad. But it's all genuine, and I found myself rooting for him on every step of the way. The other characters are well developed, not a single cardboard cutout among them. Althea starts out as a spoiled and immature girl, but blossoms into a capable, strong woman. Mr. Dubose is the wise, mentoring dwarf with that gruff compassion, AND many humorous quips! Hargonnas is pure evil, but very amusing, and I looked forward to each scene with him.The book is well written and polished. There is a lot going on, but there is no confusion. The plot moves along, and the pacing keeps you turning the pages. The art illustrations are a nice treat. There is a map, which I kept going back to follow Kairos's journey, and a few illustrations inside. While unnecessary, it shows the amount of care that went into creating this world and the characters.I highly recommend this book to readers of the fantasy genre. This is an excellent introduction to a series, and I hope the Godshard Chronicles continues to expand. This book was certainly worth taking a chance on, and I'm already looking forward to the next book.

Great book
This book was great and had a very enthralling fantasy setting! I love the world that the author built, the growth of the characters, and the escalating drama of the plot. The book has satisfying twists and turns and consistent action. The idea of the Godshards is quite interesting and it plays a big role in the overall plot of the story. It is definitely a unique and exciting world that the author thrusts you into. The stories main character can be compared to Asta from Black clover, the anime, in that he is a magic-less boy in a land full of mages. There is even a twist in the book that made me feel like I was reading a high fantasy version of Black Clover. It was a very exciting read and I cannot wait for the sequel. The author is a great guy, I was fortunate enough to pre-order one of the first copies of the book. Because I live in the area he was nice enough to deliver my copy directly to me and even sign it! It was great. If you are a fan of fantasy I definitely encourage you to give this a shot!

Great start to a series
I stumbled across this book after a recommendation from a friend. I think it was a great start for a series in this world that Todd created. I became invested in the protagonist's story and character. I'm looking forward in following the story in the future novels

Fun story with an intriguing plot
I enjoyed the world created here. The lore is there and not just an afterthought. The characters are relatable without being two dimensional. I am excited to get my hands on the next installment of the series. I don't like to give too much about the story in the review for those that haven't read it yet. The story concept itself intrigued me and did not disappoint when I got my hands on it.

I cannot put it down. Destined to be a classic!
The cover art really drew me in, I was hooked at how beautiful it is. I started reading this first Chronicle of the Godshard series entitled "Cursed Knight", and I cannot put it down. The setting and characters are riveting and full of depth. The authors must know this genre very well as everything feels spot on. Overall a great choice!
