The material is fine to use as a backdrop. It had some marks on it but nothing that couldn’t be edited out in post production.

The item is made of nice quality material that folds away nicely, the marks (not creases) that were present from it being folded in its plastic bag do not disappear completely after being ironed with a medium heat iron and steam, as per instructions. The marks are a bit like when a photograph gets folded and creased its then not possible to hide the whitish marks that show through. If this was a £8.00 'cheapee' from China I would not complain but it is a £30+ item. Any visible minor imperfections can of course be removed in Photoshop, but that's extra work.When in use , its possible to drape the material over a large collapsible folding backdrop without the backdrop collapsing under the weight of the backdrop which is very useful. This saves having to put up a frame in a small space. I think it will be obsoletely fine for portraits.I also bought the brown bronze colour which is not quite as rich in colour as the photographs - always a chance we take -Just the slight lack of richness to the colour was a minor disappointment on that one. - I gave it 4 stars.I am quite a picky person and I do like research for ages before purchasing anything. This item seemed the best for a sensible price. So all together I'm happy with the purchase and I don't think many will be disappointed.

Fabric is quite nice though arrived with very set creases in it. Hanging for several days did nothing so have been ironing the back gently and the creases have almost come out. Look carefully at the picture before ordering this - although it is advertised as black it is only black in the very corners and a little bit on the right hand side. The centre and majority of the central portion is white. Before purchasing I asked if they made a grey version (I wanted light to dark grey) and the seller replied 'This backdrop is gray in the middle, black in the edge, A gradient from grey to black'. This isn't quite true - it is much closer to white than to grey.The backdrop also has a few printing glitches in it - it is printed with a pixelation pattern and in a few places there is a rogue solid black or solid white pixel in the wrong place. This is not a problem if your subject is a few feet in front of the backdrop but if very close then you may see the dots. That brings us to another issue which is that ideally you need something at least 3m long if you want full length portraits. That's not a fault, just an observation on this size generally. In order to use the centre of the backdrop (which is how the gradient is designed) behind your subject's head you'll need to place them quite carefully and not go for more than a head and shoulders shot. For a shorter subject like a child you'll need a chair or stand and for a taller one they'll need to be sat down. Again, not faults but things to bear in mind with this design of backdrop

Lightweight, foldable and very good value for the price. I bought the light grey which also works very well using coloured gels on a flash pointing at the background, so I can turn the background any colour I want.It only took me 5 mins to steam iron the back of the cloth to remove transit creases.For flash portrait work using a lens wide apperture to blur the background will also help hide creases not ironed out and make your subject stand out more.Good for 3/4 length portraits or kiddie shoots/product shots if you lower the background giving you more of a floor train.Very pleased with this purchase!

Nice background for the money, It's ok for half length portraits..

I bought this particular backdrop with full purpose. I knew, that it being grey, I could with the help of colored gels, turn it practically into any colored background I wanted depending on the power of the light source and the distance to the backdrop. I am very pleased to say that it performs wonderfully. Easy to unpack, easy to iron out any creases (I ironed the back, not the front of the backdrop to minimise any potential accidents with the iron!). Happy to say there were no problems, it irons really easily. I have a pole I can push through the top of the backdrop thats designed for that very purpose and hoist it up to the required height. I just used a few bull clips to weight the bottom down adequately and was good to go. I have included a shot with the backdrop lit with a purple gel to show how versatile it is with the right lighting!

More durable and easier to fold than other backdrops I have but the bonus is the tube being wide enough for the cardboard roles I already had making hanging them so much easier.
