Fantastic and powerful unit, Excellent sound quality, very easy hook-up, and no fan noise for me!!!
DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE FAN NOISE---I STILL HAVEN'T HEARD IT!!! I am and always have been a music connoisseur. I have a stereo in my garage, workshop, bonus room, living room and now my home office. I have high end equipment in most locations but didn't want to spend countless dollars for the home office area. So, I started researching what I considered to be a 'middle of the road' receiver, phono speaker system. No matter where my search took me, I kept coming back to the Cambridge Audio AXR100. My only concern was the numerous reviews that pointed out the fan noise. (I still haven't heard it) I bit the bullet so to speak and made the purchase. It came quickly and efficiently and was packaged well. As I unpacked the unit, I noticed how sleek and well made it appeared. I had seen the reviews of people who took an hour or more to complete the installation. I think I had a total of thirty (30) minutes in the install. I hooked up four (4) Klipsch RP-600M speakers, a Klipsch 12" powered subwoofer, a Fluance RT85, CD player, a tv and a Blu-ray. The compatibility to all of these units was perfect. Everything was very straightforward and easy. Then came the moment of truth. I turned on the unit and slowly turned up the volume. The sound was nothing short of amazing. I started with a vinyl lp, moved to a cd from there, then to the tv and Blu-ray. All sounded perfect. The highs, the mids, and the lows were outstanding. The A/B speaker selection unit is fantastic. I will primarily keep the unit on both A and B, but occasionally, if the wife is sleeping, will switch one pair off with the touch of a button. After about 90 minutes of playing with this thing, I noticed that the unit wasn't even remotely hot and I had yet to hear the fan noise people discussed. I turned the volume down and listened intently, I could not hear any fan noise, and to this day I still haven't heard any fan noise, and the unit doesn't get hot so it surely must be working. I used the Bluetooth to sync my phone and my Bose headphones. The Bluetooth connectivity was fast, easy and painless. Less than a minute to pair both items and ensure that they worked properly. The remote control is your friend, and I found it easy to navigate the unit with the remote. It appears to be well thought out by Cambridge Audio. This AXR100 truly has a classic stereo look and feel to it. It has and is delivering outstanding sound quality with all items that are hooked up to it. The Bluetooth has been amazing for listening to my Sirius XM. The radio will rarely be used, but the reception and sound were outstanding. The unit has more than enough power to power all of the attached speakers and the clarity rival my high end Onkyo and Denon. I believe that the price point for this powerful and fully enriched feature laden unit is right on target. I paid much more for my other units, and the Cambridge sounds just as good and, in some instances, better. If you are sitting on the fence for a nice piece of sound equipment that is packed with features, sounds great, and sits at a great price point, give the Cambridge Audio AXR100 a look. You will not be disappointed.

Clean, clear, and warm.
Product arrived in perfect condition, though the box was substantially damaged and punctured in shipping. Connected to one pair of Klipsch RF7 speakers via banana plugs, nothing else. Connecting to Bluetooth took a few minutes only because I could not see the microscopic Bluetooth symbol next to the PHONO label on the same button. Connectivity and sound quality via Bluetooth / iPad is excellent. At this point, that is the only source I've tried. With all controls at nominal (no boost to bass or treble) the sound is superb with all music I've tried. For comparison, at -40dB, the sound level is plenty for a good size room. At -30dB, it's quite loud though still smooth and warm. By -20dB, the sound is VERY loud but still perfectly accurate and enjoyable. If my math is correct, -20dB should be about 1W to each speaker. Some credit to Klipsch for such high efficiency and pleasantness at modest power levels. Thank you, Cambridge, for an excellent product!

Good sound, poor Bluetooth connection, should be better given the price.
I’m being a bit critical on this review. The receiver is 2 channelled and puts out a good neutral sound and with a dedicated subwoofer output. There are not too many products on the market like this. However, I I’m very dissatisfied with the Bluetooth connection. The bluetooth range is only a few feet and can be interrupted by movement. The volume control integration is not synchronized with my phone. Receivers 1/4 the price have a much better connection. To work around the bluetooth issue, I purchased a range extender and connected through the optical line. About $50 more in cost and another device to turn on/off. So here’s the pros/cons: Pros: -Neutral sound, ideal for vinyl playback -2 Channel (A/B), great if you are powering sound in two different locations (e.g. indoor/outdoor). -Good power output. Cons: -Bluetooth connection -limited sound control (bass, treble, volume, nothing else). It’s hard to adjust for mids. -poor integration with phone. -not a lot of value for the price

I traded my Rotel of 15 years so I was very concerned about sound, I sent two different amps back so did have high hopes. My Rotel was $2500 so this amp at $800 was fight above its weight. But after a month I feel a made a good choice it has that warm British sound similar to the Rotel. I would definitely recommend this amp. Paired with my Monitor Audio column speakers and Sony DAC.
