Great for Dark Spots and Uneven Texture
I’ve been using this Paula’s Choice Azelaic Acid as part of my skincare routine for acne and dark spots, and I really like it. It has a lightweight gel-cream texture that absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave my skin greasy. I mainly use it to help with post-acne marks and redness, and with consistent use, my skin looks more even and smoother. It hasn’t caused strong irritation — just a slight tingling feeling that goes away quickly. I like that it also contains salicylic acid and licorice extract, which help target breakouts and gradually brighten the skin. ✔️ Lightweight texture ✔️ Not greasy ✔️ Helps with dark spots and redness ✔️ Good for acne-prone skin I recommend using it consistently and always with sunscreen.

Slowly, but surely Working
This was recommended by my dermatologist to use this on my off-days of trentenoin, so I use this about 4x per week. I am a WOC so obviously the hyperpigmentation from scare left after cystic acne breakouts are much more visible! But this has help start to even my skin tone back out gradually, and takes away some of the inflammation under the bumps. I use this with: panoxyl 10% benzoyl peroxide foaming cleanser, panoxyl salicylic acid toner, cerave intensive daily moisturizer, and trentenoin. This routine has started to finally show me results, after dealing with severe hormonal cystic inflammatory acne that is constantly flared-up, hurting, and multiplying. This is a great addition to my routine, and works WAY better than the one from the ordinary, and it doesn’t sting or irritate your sensitive skin.

Price is reasonable for size, but not as effective as others I've used
The size is very small because it's a SAMPLE (Boost), and same price as another I usually buy that is literally 1/2 the size. I bought this to try because I love Azelaic acid and salicylic acid combined, and this one contained licorice root also. It's not as effective as the other one, so I guess I'm back to paying double the price. That said, for someone who has never tried this combo, what it DOES is it reduces redness and swelling on the face, and this will do that, but not as effectively. I have allergies, and get allergic to my own dog sometimes. Using this combo, my nose no longer gets puffy, I don't get the occasional pimple anymore from blowing my nose and touching my face more often (I still blow my nose and touch my face, mind you, I just don't get pimples from doing it). It's a miraculous ingredient combo. This one however makes my face a tiny bit itchy when used., which defeats the purpose. It still gets 4 stars because it's keeping the puffy and redness at bay, while I wait for my more expensive other formula. To complain about $10 for 5 ml / .17 oz is unreasonable - this goes a LONG way. Remember, it's NOT face cream, it's the opposite, you use a tiny tiny bit at a time.

Paula's choice is the best
Palace choice is my favorite skincare brand. They put all the money into quality ingredients and knowledge. Not fancy bottles or packaging. If I'm not using Korean skincare then it's always Paula's choice for me

Waste due to size
Its too small to even see a meaningful change, so its just a waste of money unless you want a travel size.

Be aware of size.. TINY
I have received free samples that are larger than this! It is smaller than a tube of Chapstick. Not worth the price. It is pretty much a single use of product. I am returning without using any, so I can’t speak on behalf of the product itself. But the size was a joke.

Better than the ordinary.
I bought the travel size to try first. This azelaic acid absorbs into the skin so nicely and does not cause your makeup to peel. The travel size lasted me about 5 weeks, a little goes a long way. It does have a medicine smell to it but this stuff works! I have very oily acne prone skin with rosacea, it did cause some purging for me at first but the breakout would go away in a day or two. I highly recommend this to anyone suffering with acne or hormonal acne. My skin went from having clusters of breakouts to being clear. I haven’t noticed any dryness for my skin but mine is very oily anyway. I hope this helps!

Used for peri oral dermatitis
Cautiously optimistic - I purchased this to help with my peri oral dermatitis that I’ve had for years. I apply a small amount in the morning and before bed to the affected area. It’s been less than two weeks and I’m already noticing less bumps and redness. It’s allowed me to give my skin a break from covering it up with make up which I know was probably prolonging symptoms. I’m very happy so far!

Best product for burning acne around the nose, Effective.

Works very well. Easy to use with one application, where other products require you to apply 2-3 different products with 5 minute waiting between applications.

I know it says 5ml but this is very confusing because I thought for the price it was the 30ml option. The 5ml for 20 Australian dollars is absolutely crazy expensive for a one use of a product. Big waste of money.

Not worth it. $20 for this small tube that’ll finish in 3 days. You’re better off getting the equivalent in the Korean Skincare range.
