It doesn't look like it will fade
Installed this on my 2013 Ford Edge, first I removed two screws and four plastic retaining screws on the top of the grill to have enough space to access behind the emblem. Rather than using a wrench to remove the emblem, I found that removing the back plate that holds the emblem was easier by carefully pushing on the 3 retaining tabs (be careful not to break the tabs). Once the back plate holder together with the emblem pops off, you can now use a 10mm socket to remove self grooving nuts which you will need to use on the new emblem. Pop backplate with the new emblem on, reinstall the screws on the grill and your done. This new emblem is an improvement over the old one. It doesn't look like it will fade.

Genuine
You can spend half the price and get a 2-piece knockoff on eBay, but it will just fall apart (trust me; I tried that). This one is the genuine Ford part, looks better than the knock-offs (raised lettering) and won't fall apart. Like new again...

One Star
Didn't even send clips along to fasten it to my grill.

Ford should be ashamed. To have the "Ford" emblem ...
Ford should be ashamed . To have the "Ford" emblem blue paint wear away. This is supposed to be their product symbol. To be rubbed out because Ford decided to "go cheap" is appalling. The customer is left to buy and install a new one is the pits

Its tricky to get the old one off and this new one on but its relatively easy once you know what you're doing
Bought this for my 2013 Ford Edge SEL Grille. It fit perfectly. Its tricky to get the old one off and this new one on but its relatively easy once you know what you're doing. There are two nuts that screw onto the back of the plates plastic posts. The nuts are thin pieces of metal and as you turn them they create grooves in the plastic posts so you are essentially threading the plastic posts when you are installing the piece in the front grille.

It may pay to have a pro install it
After trying to install this as a diy, we went to our local mechanic. He removed the damaged one and installed the new one...1.2.3. Charged us $20. Well worth it. Looks like new

It looks easy to install as well
My husband was impressed that this was a real ford part the picture is a little confusing I thought because it shows the whole grille assembly but it is only the emblem which is what we needed. It looks easy to install as well.
