I adored this book. I took so many pictures of pages and paragraphs to send to other people. It's amazing and wonderful and bittersweet and strengthening to see how many goals have remained the same when it comes to dismantling the harmful systems that surround us. The way it made me feel so connected to the previous generation was sublime.

I think the information is outdated and flawed. I’m a monogamous gay male and I don’t typically view cock as a lifeline, nor do I really respect guys who do. Don’t read this book if you are looking for Self respect.That said, I do think it’s an interesting examination of gay male and somewhat lgbtq history. It’s was ok.

A useful look at part of America in the 1970s but no longer relevant to Britain of today. I am pleased that the word has been reclaimed. This book is a tribute to that word and lifestyle.
