Nauticus SX9510-80 Smart Tab SX Series Trim Tabs

I have had smart tabs installed on my boat for a couple of years and loved them. I just didn't realize how much! The setup on my 97 Rinker is not normal. The stern of the boat where he piston attaches is not flat but rounded. That shape puts unusual pressure on the piece that connects the piston the the tab. It also only lets me use the fifth hole on the tabs. Well that piece broke while on vacation. It was then that I realized that I really don't like the handling of my boat without the tabs. I called Nauticus and told them what had happened. I sent in a picture of what had broke. To my surprise they sent me 2 replacement parts that broke which arrived at my vacation house. I was also sent a different type of connector that work perfectly on my boat. They did all this at no cost. I was blown away. They have the single best customer service I have ever witnessed by a company. Thank you Nauticus. Special shout out to Laura who made this happen!!!!!! I can now use all 5 hole settings on the smart tabs. Fantastic product and fantastic company.

Put these on my 1810SS Starcraft and the boat plans SO much easier and more quickly. Boat rides more smoothly as well and eliminates bouncing or porpoising. Not sure about mileage but I can get my bow rider down to 15 mph and remain on plane where before it would just fall into the water at this speed. Very pleased with the product so far.

Installed these on my 2007 Lund 1950 Tyee Magnum with 200 Honda. No more slow holeshot. Up on plane quickly now, and at slower speed, WOW. I only wish I would have installed these when I purchased the boat. Very helpful to get on plane and maintain it at slower speeds. A huge benefit when fishing in the Great Lakes, getting out to the spot in 2-3 foot seas. Before I installed these I had to pound the fillings out of my teeth to get on plane in choppy conditions. And trying to stay on plane was a rough ride at times due to the faster speed needed to stay on plane. Now I have much more control and a greatly improved ride. Highly recommend these although I can not speak to reliability yet as this is a relatively new install this year. A great "must have" addition to my boat. Thanks

GREAT PRODUCT

I've been wanting to get these for a few years and finally pulled the trigger. We have a 2005 Wellcraft 196 Eclipse. With a V8 in the stern and a full tank of gas behind the midpoint in the boat, it seemed like it took forever to plane out. Tubing slow was almost impossible. With the smart tabs installed the bow stays MUCH lower during startup and plans out very fast. We should have purchased them years ago! The only negative is beaching the boat in very shallow water can cause the trim tabs to "dig in" when attempting to back the boat off the shore. Haven't figured this part out yet. I will try and find some easy to remove pins for the top of the shock and some bungees to hold the tabs up. Since it will be all under water I don't know how easy this will work.Other than the potential beaching issue, We love these tabs!

Wow!!!!!!!!! These make the boat ride amazingly well. Boat planes out much more quickly and maintain plane at much lower speed. The boat handles choppy water much more comfortably. Fuel mileage seems better. Top speed is up 3-5%. Boat feels much more stable at speed. Only downside to these is they are not adjustable on the fly. This means if you have them set to a stiffer setting for rougher water the boat will not turn as sharply. Steering will feel more loose instead of the carving you get if you were to trim down and turn. Non of this bothers me for every day boating however if I was going to tow a skier I would take them off for the day. Taking them off can be done in about two minutes.

I recently purchased a used 21 foot cuddy cruiser weighing in at around 3800 pounds. Powered by a 5.0 Mercrusier I was guessing it may be a little under powered. Top speed was not a concern but handling was. My previous boat had Smart Tabs so I was familiar with the befefits. The first thing I wanted to do to my new boat was remove the goofy whale fin and install Smart Tabs. I contacted Nauticus to discuss the installation which I thought might be an issue. I was sent pictures of an identical boat and was told which model tabs to order. I removed the 21 pitch three blade aluminum prop, replaced it with an 18 pitch four blade stainless prop then installed the Smart Tabs at the same time. The results were mind blowing! Seriously, the increased handling and acceleration were ridiculous! Top speed increased a full 4 plus miles per hour! The engine sounds like its laughing when I kick it down! I think its having as much fun as I am!! My boat feels like its dancing across the lake screaming like a crazy monkey. If this doesn't put a smile on your face there's got to be something wrong with your face... I feel sorry for my boats previous owner for not installing these when he owned it. He never had a clue what this boat was capable of or benefited from the added handling, speed and fuel economy that it now has. I'm a two time believer and wouldn't own a boat without them
