Has anyone confirmed this works with pepper spray ammo?

I bought the Tippmann TiPX and the pepper spray rounds to go with it and it worked great! I fired off a few rounds at a target and it worked just fine...no problems. TWO THUMBS UP. :-)

Can I use pepper ammo in this?

As long as it is a .68 caliber it will be fine. In fact I remember seeing those female bounty hunters use one with pepper balls. They shot a perp in the eye and messed him up pretty good. Last I heard he was suing them.
